Nerf Fizz E?

So as we all know, Fizz's E is THE MOST powerful AP based skill in the game, it bursts the moment he comes out of his E, so I was thinking, why not remove the damage from his E since it's already got an absurdly short CD time, and the slow inflicted is already devastating, he can keep the slow, hell, I wouldn't mind if it put his mark on us as well, so long as it doesn't burst.

Moving damage off of Fizz's E is an interesting idea, it might help, but it could also push the ability farther into the realm of utility and away from damage, which might encourage tank-fizz builds even more.

It might be more balanced if the damage got moved someplace else, or made to be conditional. Maybe his E could deal reduced damage, but be capable of using the W second hit. I don't know if that's the right direction to take it, but it's my two cents.

I take issue with how you prefaced your idea:

So as we all know...

Saying this does not make what follows suddenly a true statement. It is very presumptuous to claim that everybody agrees with it.

People will listen better if you admit that it is your opinion instead of presuming it is proven or that it is their opinion too. Don't preface an argument with a false claim, it is off-putting.

Tell me something, have you ever seen a single person say "Fizz E is balanced"?

Joxcab1 votes

Lots of people who know what they're talking about say that.

Dude, I even agreed and addressed your idea. I'm not saying you're wrong that Fizz E needs changes. Just support your argument better.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance EDIT: I mis-identified the logical fallacy, it was actually Philosophical Burden of Proof. Here is the new link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophical_burden_of_proof

So let me get this straight, you're saying, "You don't have evidence to prove me wrong, so I must be right."

Let me tell you a little something about arguing. The burden of proof lies with you, not your readers. You have to back up your argument with evidence.

It's not my job to prove you wrong.

Peace.

Look at the scaling, it makes no sense to be invulnerable then deal this much damage straight out of it.

70 / 120 / 170 / 220 / 270 (+ 75% AP)

HalcyonDweller2 votes

That's a good point, thank you for bringing evidence to support your argument.

Maybe it should deal reduced damage if used for its more mobile use case, this would offer more counterplay, although the existing balance mechanic of having the slow already removed from that seems to better serve to keep him an assassin. I'd still be worried about reducing the damage / scaling possibly increasing tank-fizz's play rate.

Or they could make his E not effected by CDR

HalcyonDweller2 votes

Perhaps, but they might already balance his E around the effect of max CDR. If they don't then they definitely should do one of those things.

Joxcab2 votes

It is already specifically balanced around that, and they had nerfed the cooldown a while back as well.

what even am i reading he doesn't get the slow if he uses the secondary leap the damage is fairly low without a massive amount of ap and the cooldown is quite high do you know what you're even talking about

CD is quite high? Right, invulnerability every 5-6 seconds then a burst that scales with a large AP percentage TOTALLY makes sense.

Joxcab2 votes

It's 6 seconds in lategame with 40% CDR which is his standard mastery pages and build. That is plenty of time for a team to lock him down and punish him/kill him or force him to Flash away to escape.

This pretty much guarantees that the person responding is going to be pissed off at you. Just saying...

Well... you're not wrong. >.<

But that doesn't usually lead to constructive discussions.

The humor of the irony is quite amazing.

Eh, I'm being more aggressive because this fellow is infamous for posting loads of poorly worded and factually incorrect, over exaggerated QQ posts about just about everything.

That was improper of me but eh whatever.

So it's incorrect that Fizz E is broken as fuck? C'mon you can't be THAT stupid.

Cute, baseless insults while also being in the wrong.

Implying that anybody who disagrees with you is stupid is once again, presumptuous. I thought you were better than this... Oh well.

You were doing so great presenting evidence and discussing the kit in our other comment thread on this post. Why the relapse?

The Lost Marbles2 votes

The only thing Fizz's E needs is a slightly higher CD at max rank and for its cooldown to start when Fizz lands rather than on cast.

At least I think it starts on cast. Either that or it starts when he jumps off the pole. Either way, it starts before he lands.

It bursts? I thought his W was the main "burst" ability.

fizzś e is not the move powerfull ap ability in the game. fizz is designed to burst. fizz would not be able to function if his e did no damage.

Remove yourself from game, denying ANY ability then 1-shot them, sounds perfectly balanced.

You can thank the other dude, "Lyseth is infamous for shitposts"

C'mon, he started it
