item 3116 is your first option. The slow is very helpful and it helps the slow down when being chased or chasing. Health is also good for your abilities.

Your 2nd option can vary between item 3006 boots, item 3020 boots item 3158 boots, depending if you want attack speed to proc Q faster, magic penetration for penetrating or Ionian boots for lower cooldowns.

item 3285 for the extra-helpful movement speed, AP and the "tons of damage" echo passive.

4th item might be strange, but it's rally helpful in many situations. item 3115 . Why? Because 20% cooldown is super duper helpful, attack speed for Q and passive and 80 AP.

5th item, item 3065 . Helps with the Health regen, tons of magic resist, Health, cooldown and passive.

6th item item 3742 . Alot of Health and armor, and helpful passive to escape or engage.

If you want to sell your boots, sell it and get an Ohmwrecker item 3056 . If you had Ionian boots, your still getting 10% cooldown, maxing it to 40%. Also has Health, Health regen and Armor.

At the end, you will have more than 3500 HP, more than 350 AP, more than 200 armor, more than 120 magic resist, and tons of Health regen (300%). You can still deal tons of damage, while being tanky as a bruiser.

Onto Runes now. This is my personal set up which leads to personal success.

3x Quintesseces of Ability Power 6x Marks of Attack Speed 3x Marks of Magic Penetration 5x Seals of Armor 4x Seals of Armor per level 6x Glyphs of Magic Resist per level (can be changed to flat MR if playing against AP champions) 3x Glyphs of Ability Power

Masteries:

Stormraider's Surge is the new OP keystone mastery for Mordekaiser. Believe me, you can burst any champion's 30% HP at any point of the game for 2.5 seconds. That sexy movement speed + imune to slows for 3 seconds will help him sooooooooo much!

The rest of the set up is 0/18/12.

On the cunning tree, focus the following (in order): Savagery, Assassin (in solo lanes) or Secret Stash (duo lane), Merciless, Bandit (works even if no one kills the minion [if you miss it] and the 10 gold when hitting the champion), Precision and Stormraider's Surge.

On the resolve tree, focus the following (in order): Recovery (super helpful early game), Tough Skin, Veteran Scans (for early game) or Runic Armor (for health regen) and Perserverance (another super helpful health regen for early game)

Ok I hope you like my guide for all you Morde players and Morde mains (looking at you Malicious Metal), as of this patch, Morde will be back Mordekaiser

As fun as it is to be optimistic with you (loved Morde but slowly stopped playing him after season 3 and suddenly stopped with rework) he still has the really, really huge problem of 325 base movespeed.

A reason you buy te Ludens for him. 10% movement speed helps moving his heavy armor on the rift.

Yeah higher movement bonus luden's is a good pickup and probably worthy of the spot you gave it in your build. I'm gonna try it out :) It's still frustrating that they configured his kit this way... because having no practically no mobility and no cc means that your enemy dictates all engagements until you're three items in (just a item 3116 will do in a limited set of matchups). This means that the agency is almost entierly on his opposing laner, and he's either strong enough to farm no matter what they do, or he gets dumpstered, which is the exact gameplay pattern that Riot found unacceptable in his previous iteration.
