Riot Finally Nerfed Lee Sin, You Guys!
Oh baby. After jungle Olaf took this hit back when he got reworked, I thought it was completely unfair for Lee Sin to continue retaining his spell vamp in the jungle. After all, Spell Vamp is an incredibly weird mechanic to balance, because most spells are area of effect, but Lee Sin has four very high damage single target spells (Sonic Wave, Resonating Strike, Dragon Rage and
).
Enter Patch 6.1:
"Smite no longer triggers spell effects (Such as spell vamp or Rylai's slow)"
Haha! Lee Sin's W, Iron Will, gives him 5% spell vamp at rank 1, on top of a 40 health shield. That meant, at level 2 when Smite does 400 damage, Lee Sin was effectively gaining 60 health (40 shield, 20 heal from Spell Vamp Smite) from a single ability, and that's not even counting all the bonus health he got from 4 seconds of 5% life steal (More Life steal than
and the activation of Iron Will gives him a boost of attack speed so he can capitalize on that life steal pretty damn well).
In the late game, when Iron Will gives 25% spell vamp and Lee Sin can Smite Baron or Dragon for 1000, that's a huge 250 health restored to the Blind Monk for nothing.
So this is some invisible power removed. It's going to make Lee Sin's clears in the jungle less healthy over all, and in the end that kind of love tap is nice. Especially since Lee's name isn't attached to it so none of the mains will cry about it. Good move Riot.
90% of games last season. Every patch crippled mid TF more, even though TF was included in only one patch. Strangely, one patch buffed support TF more than any other support champion. That went unnoticed by most players due to the narrow minded expectations of champions and roles in ranked.
