With everyone complaining about OP champ this and OP champ that

Brascus··16 votes·1,729 views

I actually don't recollect a game I've played that a champ ruined my game because they're impossible to beat.

  • I've lost games when someone got fed (someone took a risk they shouldn't have and then some)
  • I've lost games when I became a chef (I took a risk I shouldn't have and then some)
  • I've lost games where I played a champ I'm not experienced with (literally don't know what I'm doing)
  • I've lost games from consistent team bickering (fighting each other instead of the enemy)
  • I've lost games from exceptional enemy team co-ordination (enemy team communicated as pros)
  • I've lost games from flat out being outplayed (taken by surprise with situations I wasn't prepared for or familiar with)

Every champ has some kind of flaw and you learn to beat them by educating yourself about it and then exploiting it, then educate yourself about the flaws your own champ has and be very aware of others trying to exploit that. There are a lot of champions and sometimes this lack of familiarity is really the only reason you don't know how to get an edge, but you'll never grow if you seek to blame something for a sour situation.

Well here I am going against the grain again, downvotes away, for science! http://i.imgur.com/QcHXbnu.png

Wow is the entire discussion about 1 guy who refuses to learn about Fiora weaknesses? LMAO

Ralanr1 votes

Actually he does make good points. Fiora W can stop anything and a good player will know when to use it and when not to.

Brascus1 votes

It can stop most things, but it won't return any effects without you standing in the blue box, has a pretty long CD and high mana cost, its telegraph is also long enough to walk out of without any bonus MS. It has its uses but its no iWin button, usually save it to escape life or death situations, using it offensively is like Darius using his Ult to get more stacks, you can do it, but you probably shouldn't 90% of the time.

I main Garen

A fellow garen main, you must know my pains of ban rate. item 3070

Fiora play against her and tell me there was something you could do to beat her

Ralanr5 votes

"I threw a spear and blocked her sword" -Pantheon.

luckmallory2 votes

Then she hits level 6 and doesn't care

Ralanr3 votes

I usually starve her a lot by then.

Course I may just be playing bad Fiora players who think they grabbed an easy champion.

luckmallory1 votes

Probably bad. She can just W every single one of your Q's and she does so much true damage it doesnt matter what garen builds. Also when you all in she will just wait to W your ult and you wont be able to kill her

Ralanr2 votes

Was that addressed to me? Cause I play Pantheon not Garen.

luckmallory1 votes

ah nevermind my answer to you will be that she will outscale you so hard your passive will no longer matter because once she gets 3 items her ult and E will instakill you

Ralanr2 votes

Oh yes you'd be right on that. Really I haven't gotten to experience that due to shutting down her lane so hard and others after I roam that the enemy team surrenders.

Plus everything outscales Pantheon's passive. Usually around the time where we begin to protect turrets rather than be protected by them.

luckmallory1 votes

except you can't shut her down or stomp her in lane because your combo relies on landing your stun and she will just W your stun every single time you jump in which will stun you in her minions

also your passive does not block her Q which is her main damage source in lane

Ralanr3 votes

Stun is on a shorter cooldown than her counter (I believe her's is similar to Yasuo's windwall cooldown) and it blocks the vital strikes which is good enough.

I'm not saying Pantheon is a perfect counter, he just has tools to deal with her pre-6. But of course the game ends long after 6.

Meep Man5 votes

So she is going to W EVERY SINGLE ONE of your Qs AND Ws? Thats some cool down there.

Meep Man1 votes

You obviously have no idea why Pantheon counters her.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

So you're saying she's not broken because one champion can beat her? Ah, I see.

Ralanr1 votes

Way to twist my words.

DEMACIA -Garen 2015

Post level 9 if fiora's ult is up she will demolish Garen. not to mention she can block his ult with a basic ability.

something they both have, and garen easily out trades her early and is tankier

That's why you bait it out.

Nobody who plays fiora and isnt half retarded would use it before tahm has managed to get 3 stacks on you

As a tahm main. I personally never use w immediately. Autos with high he should help with trade and if she riposte then you go deep.

The Fast3 votes

W blocks the devour, but the devour doesn't go on cooldown. You can eat her immediately afterwards.

Fowus3 votes

be riven

luckmallory1 votes

and get shit on? lel

Fowus2 votes

not with that mobility and damage

dragon n1nja2 votes

summoner 1 and item 3140 counter her ult, without it she doesnt come close to the damage she could have done

luckmallory1 votes

Can only build those situationally and either way if she gets on top of you she can melt you without her ult. Watch the LCS game she was played in at worlds. She was 2-1 and kill braum in 3 autos with her E without her ult then melted someone else with her ult

Up vote for you!

People mainly call them op because there's no easy way to beat them. People don't like challenges greater than themselves

Rabid Husky2 votes

to be completely honest i have just one big glaring problem with your post...i can't upvote it enough! for real tho you look at the forum and see "x is op! x is broken!! nurf x! x takes no skill!!" bunch a cry babies here really tho this post needed to be out there

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

its funny i find Heimerdinger to be op and he is on this thread....

Brascus1 votes

Have you played as him though? He has some pretty exploitable flaws, completely immobile, squishy and slow. You either catch him without his illuminati camp or blow up the turrets first, you can juke the mega lasers on the turrets. No doubt he packs a punch if you roll into his kill zone, you either remove it or play around it so he's very susceptible to ganks.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

he is so overwhelming and he almost never needs mana since he has his turrets to farm for him and if i get close they take me so low

Brascus1 votes

What are you playing against him as?

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

TwistedFate Kassadin Brand im just practicing them though i mostly go Talon

Brascus1 votes

Then poke his turrets and then poke him. I thought you were on melee, if he has no turrets his damage dives and he can't cs without going oom or overwhelmed.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

he stays too far back and still gets farm or he stuns me for cheap and gets free poke from turrets

Shroom Junkie1 votes

You're not talking about the specific things that make a champion OP, though.

Let's take Darius for instance, probably one of the most unbalanced champs in the game at the moment. Okay, so he's immobile. Alone. But when he has allies... suddenly you have Ancient Coin, Righteous Glory, ally abilities such as Lulu boost and Karma boost. You can also get alacrity if you want.

He's tanky as shit and does a ton of damage, not to mention he has a %missinghealth heal. A big one. So you could try to stay out of the edge of his blade but, lets be honest, its a big-ass blade(fortunately its being nerfed this patch), and if he gets close enough its not hard for him to keep you on the edge. Okay, so he's not able to 1v5. But so what? He's still a major threat. 1v1? Almost always going to beat you. Team fight? You're forced to focus him or die. He'll consistantly deal tons of damage to you with his 5 second cooldown Q, not to mention the 20% CDR from Black Cleaver. Okay, so lets say you and your team have the damage to kill him fast enough before he kills you. What about the other enemy carries? You're all focusing on him for at least 5 seconds while they're all destroying your team's health bars.

So you have 2 choices: A. Focus Darius and let the enemy carries kill you. B. Focus the enemy carries and let Darius deal tons of damage to you and either keep your carry out of the fight, probably making you lose, or killing your carry.

Either way you lose, simply because of Darius. Could be Nautilus in the middle there. But you wouldn't have to focus him, just peel him off of your carry while killing the enemy carries or at least pushing through the front line. Could be Yi there. But he's squishy as all hell, if you CC him even once you can probably burst him in a second. But instead its like a mix... a crazy tanky guy with sustain based on how tanky he is and enough damage to kill your carry by himself. So sure, he's not unbalanced alone vs your team, but... he isn't alone. He's still got his team to back him up, and that is the misconception that people make.

There are a few others you could say are unbalanced; Fiora, Garen, etc., all mostly for the same reason as Darius. Someone is unbalanced when no matter what you do you'll lose. When they don't even have to be fed to change the course of the game. And it ruins it and puts them at the top of their game, makes it so you either ban them or, if somebody picks them, you'll probably lose.

Brascus1 votes

That's interesting that you bring up righteous glory I had a whole thread on whether bonus movespeed counts as mobility http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/5Tch1HEY-does-bonus-move-speed-counts-as-mobility-oee

Simply because the juggernauts can all get it and their immobility doesn't seem to counter balance them late game like it does early game. Darius kind of revolves around his opponent(s) making mistakes because he literally can't touch you unless you do, which is why he does better in team fights (which are more hectic) compounded by team and itemization synergies.

But it's not so black and white if you've played Darius, people are terrified of his W E combo because they're up close and moving really slow, but in reality he doesn't do damage outside of his Q which you can deny from being too close or far and his 5 stacks. When Balls got that Penta at worlds it's because FNC disrespected Darius' Q and ofc got punished real hard by it.

Now imagine bronze players who aren't aware or even co-ordinated around Darius making FNC's mistake every time, ends up making Darius look pretty OP.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

Well even if they do respect his Q, that still means they're being majorly zoned. He can basically herd them like sheep, possibly even separate them so that they can pick off their carries without their allies being able to help them.

Like, I don't even care if Balls got a penta on him at Worlds. That means nothing for balance because Balls is just good, along with all the other players there. But the thing is, that doesn't just happen at Worlds. Its not just in the competitive scene, its not just in Bronze, the major problem that tells you its broken is when(and that) it happens everywhere.

its annoying the way you have to play to beat fiora.. it just isnt fun beating her. it feels more of a struggle.
