Huge nerf to Mordekaiser on the PBE

Mordekaiser's passive Iron Man is now displayed on his HP bar, making enemies always aware of the shield he has.

This leads to them not picking fights when prior to this change they would, leading to Mordekaiser not being able to get kills when the enemy underestimates him. Especially in top lane he'll never be able to kill the enemy without them being total halfwits, inting or dc'ing.

This has to be the biggest nerf Mordekaiser has ever gotten to this date and I wonder what Riot was even thinking!

Shitposting aside, the change is good for those playing against Morde but it'll be annoying for us who are used to the shield being displayed below our hp bar. It's just unecessary clutter for us Morde mains and I'd like there to be an option to disable it as it's just an eyesore.

Plot twist the change introduces another 200 bugs.

I am able to see the future and predict the next patch will include

"If you remove the entirety of Mordekaiser's shield he will swap places with a random melee minion"

200? that's being generous.

I mean people are always aware of Morde's shield. The issue is that you really couldn't calculate how much damage would be absorbed by that shield.

Is it going to absorb 100 damage or 300?

You act as if Morde shouldn't have clarity.

I mean people are always aware of Annie’s stun . The issue is that you really couldn't calculate how many spells until she could stun (unless you clicked her and looked at icon).

Is it going to stun in 1 or 3 abilities?

You act as if Annie shouldn't have clarity.

She did need clarity. And she got it. Seems fair that Morde does too. Yes it’s unfortunate that Morde is as handicapped as he is atm due to no cc/mobility melee but that should exempt him from clarity.

I'm caught between being highly amused and a little alarmed that this is the main talking point, given that this post is clearly indicative of somebody who barely even skimmed the OP and addresses literally none of the actual complaint MM has.

(Incase it's not obvious, this is referring to the clutter on his 'own' screen, not the visibility to enemies.)

First. Drop the cocky attitude.

Second. OP complained about both. Arguing that I didn't read the post when you ignored the very first thing he argued is incredibly hypocritical.

Third. "A shield being on my health bar is distracting" isn't a nerf. He's arguing purely for himself and acting as if he represents other players. It's why that point was ignored. It wasn't worth acknowledging.

I mean, given that he literally admits everything above that point is "shitposting", I felt like there was an implied /s on that section, and focused on the one part that was serious.

Given that the OP is posting this as if he represents other Morde players it's implied that nothing he stated is worth acknowledging as being serious

why are people upvoting you? clearly you didn't read the whole post. -1

His shield bar already has sub-bars, like health bars do, representing 100 shield. This changes nothing.

That's not a nerf, that's fixing something that's blatantly misleading.

I find Morde's shield to be like Yasuo's... You can tell when it's up and how much he has just like how you can tell how close yasuo is to having his shield. I don't understand why they'd make such a change as to me, that seems even harder to judge having the shield over the hp bar rather than under it.

makes it super hard for the Morde player to tell when their shield bar is "full" too

At least now I know that his shield is effected by %shield increases.

I have long dreaded the day when this change would come out...

######(seriously, it's a terrible, terrible eyesore, and it steals from Morde's uniqueness. If you want the shield bar more visible, just increase it's width)

It's a big positive change for the sake of clarity which, in the short run, will be a nerf to Mordekaiser since it will be easier for people to decide when to fight him. However, this will open up potential to then compensate Mordekaiser with actual changes to power (rather than a lack of clarity) to his kit.

Ayyy that's me. Honestly, in that game, it made me feel way more intimidating and tankier. Once you get the dragon ghost, having that huge shield on your HP bar felt great, but I do see your concern. Now people will stop diving me under tower when I'm low :(

??? Anyone who wasn't blind or terrible at the game already knew not to pick big fights by just looking underneath his HP bar. A buff for bad players if anything.

"Huge nerf" this would only matter at lower ranks for very few players

This just gives clarity even for Morde mains.
