Tips for winning more games in low elo

These are some things that help me climb, and do well, and also the mistakes I see other players making. I'm sure not everyone will agree with me on every little detail, but that's the reality of a game with many ways to play.

Support: This may come as a surprise to some of you, but support is easily the most influential and important role in this game. They are also 90% responsible for the success or failure of bot lane during that phase.. Barring the actual mentality and comprehension of the adc.

In low elo there is a common misconception that their primary role is to ward, and engage for the team. There is also another huge misconception that bot lane is just a duo lane, and as long as you have some form of cc in your kit you can "support". So let me set some things straight. A Support is far more useful to the team, when they view their position as keeping their teammates alive and healthy, and do this well. Example: yes, you can W,Q combo with ali and start a fight for your team that way. The problem with this, is now your abilities are on cooldown, and anyone who wishes to do so on the enemy team can likely move past you and your frontline and assault your carries, and in situations where this happens it's very difficult to do anything impactful to help them. A better play from the support, is to try to be annoying, threatening, and have the enemy team either attempt to engage on you (if you are a tank), or attempt to engage on your backline. In the case of someone like Ali you don't have to use your w to get near them. You now have 2 tools to keep your team alive available, and you still have combo to reinitiate the fight or disengage if needed. ** To sum it all up, saving your abilities gives you more options, and the very presence of your champion between you and their objective backline targets is enough to zone them away and have to deal with you first. Just being well practiced in avoiding enemy Skillshots creates huge opportunities for your team to correctly engage in a fight and win it. **

**ADC : You need to CS**, you absolutely have to get your creep score to at absolute minimum 60cs by 10 minutes.. The ideal is 80 at that time, and anything more than that is great.

** Position well**, stay behind your other teammates, if you know they aren't peeling for you sit back and wait for the enemy team members who have been focusing you to use their gap close or cc before getting into the fight. If your team just so happens to die while you are waiting for a safe entry into the fight. It is likely you would have died in the fight as well anyway, so at least now ur alive, and can push enemy minions away from ur base, denying them objectives. There are some situations where you can move in before these abilities have been used, and that's when someone is out of position on their team and the threats to you cannot reach you if you attack this person. You can always try to politely ask your support, or mid laner to save their cc and use it on an enemy champion who has been able to get past your front line and reach you.
Patience will keep you alive, and you will win more games if you play smart, especially if you are keeping waves pushing towards their objectives.

Jungler: Yes you are blamed for not ganking, alot, no you can't be everywhere at once, but there are things you can do to help win a game. Im not the greatest jungler to give advice but here are some things I've picked up through experience (when things aren't going well for you or your team).

If everyone on your team is pushed up and you cannot gank, you need to be Predicting what lane the enemy jungler will most likely hit, and try to Counter their gank. The best way to do this is to look at your team's weaknesses as though they were your enemy.

  1. If they are low health or low mana and shoving wave.. they are probably going to get ganked..
  2. If the enemy jungler is camping a lane, they will probably continue to do that and milk it..
  3. Get good vision of your jungle. Smite your wolves pink around your red, and use your totems to either put vision on a path the jungler has been using to gank frequently, or get a deep ward on a camp on a side they are favoring. If you yourself are being invaded then buy a sightstone get more vision, and try to get your teammates to launch an assault on the enemy jungle when they invade.

The biggest thing you can do is snowball your team.. If they are capable of getting that last hit on the enemy, even if you did all the work.** Let them get the kill**. There is nothing more aggravating than seeing a jungler with a ton of kills, and all the lanes doing poorly. You might be able to carry your team if you're fed, but most of the time, I see teams with only the jungler fed, lose the game. It's a team game, share the wealth, and that pretty much goes for anyone who is fed. Also the excuse of "I'm a carry jungler" isn't realistic. Carrying in this game means being successful as a team, and getting the nexus. It;s not team deathmatch, and your boosted KD is not going to get you anywhere if your entire team has died so you can get a triple.

Mid: If you are winning your lane, apart from a few champions, most midlaners cannot siege for crap (meaning they take forever to bring a tower down). It's better to shove your lane under their tower then look for a gank on top, bottom, or help your jungler get vision (and take) enemy jungle camps. That or take a major jungle objective, like dragon or rift Herold. Ping your teammates when ur lane goes missing. You are a solo lane, if they aren't there there is no excuse why you aren't letting your team know. Even if they back, you should alert everyone, and this really goes for any lane, but I see this problem occurring more with mid and top than anyone else. Not everyone is looking at the map the entire game, everyone is dodging skillshots, looking for opportunities to engage, looking at cs health and tring to last hit, you cannot just assume people are paying attention to what's going on in everyone else's lane.

**Top: Take a damn champion with engage if your team doesn't have any, take a tank if your team doesn't have one, and stop trying to play off meta garb that you saw some pro take on livestream. ** The reality of off meta picks is this (this goes for all roles).. When pros and experienced players do it.. They usually have a specific strategy, or a specific team comp already discussed beforehand. In layman's.. Their team is ready to accommodate them, and synergize with their pick. If you randomly come into a solo Q and take annie top.. Sure you have a decent chance at winning lane, you may even have a chance at winning the game (based more on luck). But ur not going to do shit if you sacrificed some crucial utility for your team, and your team happens to be behind, like 100% of the time a team without some form of utility or strong frontline is going to get steamrolled late game.

All: If you're not likely to win the fight, then don't engage. Don't feed the enemy team, it's actually better to let them take your objective than to be dead, and the reason for this is simple.. If they kill you, they are probably going to get that objective anyway, but now they can easily move onto another, and even if they don't that's still additional gold for them, and lost time and gold for you. If you;e struggling then ASK FOR HELP, AND TOWER FARM. Put as much distance away from the person who is messing you up, and more often than not they will do something extremely stupid and get themselves killed. That or they will get cocky and roam around (and with good pings.. all this does is makes them waste time and cs). Don't get mad Don't chat, seriously anything you need to say in relation to gameplay can be done with good pings, and if you do chat keep it very short and only say important or useful things.

Put pressure on Objectives, especially if you are ahead. If you have 5 people sitting mid, waiting for a damn fight to ensue you are playing the game wrong Split pushing is extremely effective against low elo players, because they really don't rotate fast enough. And if you are a fed tank, you can literally harass and distract damn near an entire enemy team while your team is securing other objectives. In a nutshell, waste the other team's time and get your team to focus a tower. One of the biggest ways I climbed myself out of bronze was playing support. Getting my teammates very fed, then distracting and kiting the enemy team around.

^ LOW ELO PLAYER OBSESS OVER GETTING KILLS. Exploit that trait against them, and make them think you are vulnerable when you aren't.. they will misplay constantly, they will chase you all around, they will waste time with you and not pay attention to anything going on around them.

**Ward.. alot, don't face check to see if someone is where you think they are,,., use a skillshot. ** < Good vision actually wins games.. you;ve heard it 100 times, and that's because it's true.

HAVE FUN
