I take issue with pretty much everything in this post.
You have the ability to mute a player easily. So filing reports on offensive players is absolutely absurd.
These two aren't mutually exclusive. Having a mute button is not a reason to be an asshole. I understand and appreciate that you may have BPD, but that excuse only goes so far, in League and in the real world. If you get triggered by a customer where you work, chances are you aren't going to last long or you are going to be put where you don't directly interact with customers.
Players should be taught in tutorial how to mute, it takes one second to do it in game.
I'm pretty sure people know how to use the mute button. Maybe not the /mute all command, but they know how to mute people. That still doesn't give you the right to be an asshole.
I get in trouble all the time for getting hype and yelling at people for doing stupid crap in this game..
The easiest way to fix that is to not type. If you need to type, instead of using the enter key, try some odd combination like ctrl+0+' It's not your job to play God in this game and yell at people for making mistakes or stupid decisions. Even Faker makes mistakes.
I'm not mean to people all the time.. Only when they trigger me.. I even tell people all the time if I annoy them to mute me, and that it's nothing personal..
That still doesn't mean that you are excused from the consequences of your actions.
I feel like I constantly have a chat ban in this game, and to be perfectly honest.. I don't say mean things to people unless I truly feel like they deserve it.
Perhaps no one deserves to be yelled at for their mistakes.. But what is with the double standard of yelling at and punishing people for yelling, especially when it is out of their control.
Because in a vast majority of cases, it is completely in control of the player. Again, you aren't God, you shouldn't be yelling at people when in your last game you went 4/15/24 on support Leona. For a 48 minute game you only placed 11 wards and 4 pinks, the pink ward count is alrigh, but the regular wards is awful. And again, it isn't a double standard, the punishments are the same for everyone. There are things you can do to lessen the chance for you to flame in chat. I mentioned earlier that maybe you could put the access to chat as some weird combo where it's harder to reach. You can turn down the chat size down so you can't see it. You can move the chat window off the screen so you won't see it. There is also this link where it shows you how to hide chat.
Also, in case you are unaware. Most people from my generation are taught to vent our frustrations through words (maybe just me because I have disabilities). What other course of action to you riot suggest people take other than talking out their problems?
I take issue with this, because in the scenario that you are putting out there, you aren't talking through problems, you're just raging at another player.
You offer no real tutorials on how to play a game effectively, and that causes alot of problems for people who took the time to learn the game.
The thing with most MOBAs is that there isn't just one way to play the game. I have friends who play mord panth bot lane. In Overwatch, I play with friends and we all play as Mei. We are playing the game "wrong" but that doesn't mean that you can just rage and get mad at us. Because I've won a lot of games playing both those strats.
That's where you will really run into problems with a toxic gaming community.
Mixing people with different intentions and skill gaps is begging for problems.
I've yet to see this happen post level 30. Leveling up a smurf, sure I can see that happening. Post 30, that doesn't happen all that often, especially in Ranked, normals are a different story. I'd say with you playing 600+ games of ranked this season and you are in the ELO where you belong. If you want to play with more competent people, climb the ladder like everyone else.
Unfortunately, society doesn't accept people with disabilities, and now you are cockblocking us from one of our go to outlets to connect with people.. Video games are a lot of the time where we go.
The reason why League has the banning system that they do, is because of the immediate reputation that League got for being the most toxic game ever. People would stack thousands of games worth of chat restrictions, and yet the toxicity ran absolutely rampant. In response Riot made a harsh banning system, and let me tell you, I've been playing since S1 and the toxicity has gone down quite a bit in the past 2 years. The thing is, other companies have a similar system in place, in particular Blizzard. I know that Dota 2 also has a banning system for toxic players. It's not just Riot, its every game company trying to make the experience better for a majority of the players.
I also take a huge issue with the last sentence, that society doesn't accept people with disabilities. In general, society is very accepting of people with disabilities, now I will admit that it's harder for society to accept people with mental disabilities. But that doesn't mean that people with disabilities just get a free pass on whatever they do. People who rage in chat ruin the game for other players. I would much rather have a game where no one types in chat at all personally, because that means that no one is raging at each other. If you are ruining the experiences of potentially 4-9 other people's games, then it makes economic sense to ban your account. I've provided several things that you can do to help it so you don't get banned or get another punishment, it's up to you to take action.
