Last new Enchanter support was Nami. Next new champ is a marksman. I imagine we're gonna get another top laner, if anything, soon.
I mainly use Enchanters, so with that said, the champion pool I actually jive with is looking mighty dusty, Riot.

Completely agree Riot is just throwing supports to the side because "OMG damage champs will sell well they can burst and outplay"

It's not that they're throwing supports to the side. They DID release Rakan, and Kench before him.
My issue is that we haven't had a new Enchanter entry since Nami.
kaironen1 votesI am pretty sure the last support released was rakan which wasn't too long ago I believe (same day of release as xayah). He's a different enchanter but he builds like 1 and his shield is that of ones. The only difference is he's a playmaking enchanter support.

He's a catcher. He's picked to start up fights and catch people out of position. Although he has the heals and shields of an Enchanter, his game play in action is that of a play-maker, kind of like Bard (has a heal, but he's mainly used to create plays on the map, not defend people).
I'm asking for a defensive mage...which is what Enchanters are. Rakan really isn't that.
Teridax681 votesI'd love to see a new enchanter, though I also feel whichever one comes next should address the issues typically associated with the subclass. Enchanters are amazing when they unlock opportunities for their team that nobody else can, but feel absolutely boring to play, and shitty to play against, when they get to just sit back and negate much more difficult plays. Too many of them focus on passive healing and shielding instead of pushing their team to do better, and because of this I feel it could be particularly interesting to have an enchanter that offered no defensive power whatsoever. Having an enchanter that empowered someone's casting, extended their range, gave them forward mobility, etc. could make for interesting gameplay, and could potentially open up more opportunities for other bot laners in the process.

An enchanter with no defensive power is an enchanter no one's going to pick.
LOW defensive power is one thing, but NO defensive power is a horrible idea.
