Rammus' taunt duration and armor reduction debuff need separate durations

One thing that's always bugged me about Rammus' E is that the armor reduction effect lasts the same time as the taunt. This means that if the taunt ends early, so does that armor reduction. 25 AR against a squishy can be pretty important, so having that reduction cut off by a Cleanse or Mikael's Crucible feels like getting kicked in the nuts.

Can we separate those two in terms of duration? Maybe make said AR reduction last a consistent 3 seconds, while the taunt duration is unchanged? This would also help the AR reduction at early ranks to make it feel like it actually exists. (5 armor reduction for 1.25 seconds? What can THAT accomplish?)

Why do this? CONSISTENCY.

#NOTE! - Rammus IS getting nerfed in the next patch. His ultimate's cooldown is getting increased at earlier ranks.

Rammus does not need buffs, maybe in the future when he does this could change but not right now.

Rammus and tanks in general need hard nerfs, the damage every single one of these meta tanks can do is totally out of line. It's not ok that they get to have their cake and eat it too.

Rammus is sitting at a 54-55% winrate. If he needs anything then he needs nerfs. People with 50 rammus games tend to have a 65% winrate.

He IS getting nerfs. His ult's cooldown is going up at earlier ranks.

And you failed to understand what a nerf is for.

Either way, what I'm suggesting is more of a consistency change. Why is Rammus the only Champion whose armor reduction effect is reduced by Tenacity?

Either way, it would bring advantage and another nerf would following.

I've felt a lot of things while playing this video game, but being kicked in the nuts was never one of those. That's pretty impressive that you can feel that through a screen.

It's figuratively speaking.

I believe they are separate, the reason its removed is a QSS removes ALL debuffs

They aren't separate, as Cleanse also removes the AR debuff when it purges the taunt. Same with Mikael's Crucible. Those normally don't remove AR debuffs.

I c I c, as much as he doesn't need buffs, i think he needs that consistency

Right now, no. Rammus is a powerful champion right now and this would be a direct buff. Even coupled with his PBE nerfs it seems like a poor choice.

I could see a world where decoupling his taunt duration and armour debuff while leaving them at the same duration (ie. mercs drop taunt but not armour debuff) could be a fair change but currently this is not that world. I feel like if Rammus was going to get a change like this currently his taunt duration would need to take a hit, which would probably just kill him.

This isn't necessarily a bad idea, it's just not the correct time for it.

You know, I am waiting for the META to shift and rammus to fall out of existence because the most important thing keeping him right now is the abundance of adc's in team comps which causes him to be overpowered. Now he will become balanced with patch 6.7 and then become weak when the meta shifts.

Rammus always had a solid winrate.

You have a point there but yes, i would like to see his winrate after the mage update though

we need more sustained magic damage dealers and soon he'll be garbage tier.
