Playing Champions in Team Builder Should Earn Champion Points

Isn't Team Builder there for practice? That being said, bringing a champion to Team Builder for practice should earn Champion Points- or something along those lines. I mean, "Champion Mastery" is a great indicator of how far along you've come with that champion. For example, if I pick up Dr. Mundo I'd want to practice with him in Team Builder- to ensure I always get Mundo and the role I prefer to practice. If I earned Champion Points (or some variation) I could monitor my progress with Mundo before bringing him to a regular game. Once I've "mastered" Mundo, I can be confident that I'm familiar enough with his gameplay to actually bring him out of Team Builder. But, it doesn't work like that. I mean, it's not that I don't know how familiar with a champion I am- but I like confirming my progress with something visual- like the basic function of an experience bar.

You do earn Champion Points in team builder. And no, Team Builder is not for practice. Co-op Vs. AI, custom games, and to a lesser degree blind pick, are for practice.

Team builder is a great way to practice. For example, I wanted to test a top-lane Alistar. In team builder my allies can see where I'm going, and with what champion. They have the option of leaving, where as other game types would penalize the player for leaving. Team builder is the perfect game type for practice, even its name suggests this idea. Ranked teams are likely to practice in team builder.

But, I didn't realize I was getting champion points. I don't ever see it come up...? It's good to know it does work that way.

Too bad there is no Team Builder vs AI: then players could be assured of getting the champ they want in the role they want to practice in a low pressure game mode.

Overkill. You can jungle Annie Co-op vs AI and it's legit.

Usually when I do Co-op vs AI its to try a particularly tricky champ. I just go where ever I want. The only people who complain are those lvl 10s and such and they usually stop complaining when you go on a killing spree. At that level people still believe its possible to lose to bots.

I don't think it is overkill, i think of it more as a time saver. Supposed you wanted to play nothing but jungle Annie for a whole day while I want to spam mid Syndra, which I will want to do as soon as I finish collecting the IP for her because I like playing with a new champ right after purchase. Team builder would facilitate that.

There are also a team comp idea or two that I have (and most likely other people have their own ideas) that I could not fill in a regular team builder queue that I probably could in an ai team builder queue due to its relaxed nature.

Bots don't fully utilize the advantages the prevailing meta. What this means is, in a AI game, going top Synrda is exactly the same as going mid Syndra because bots play the same way regardless of lane. Use normal team builder to practice mid Syndra. Use bots the very 1st time you play her so you can figure out how her kit works. This is what I do.

Currently, I'm training Vi. The very 1st game, I made a custom game with just me and a bot to figure out how to use her and how she works in the jungle and from there I went straight to spamming her in the jungle with Teambuilder. My second or third game with humans, I managed to carry. I didn't even bother with Co-op vs AI. We don't really need a team builder for Co-op vs AI. Besides, playing too many Co-Op vs AI games will give you terrible habits. I think its best to start playing humans as soon as possible with a new champ. That way you get into the correct habits from the start.
