Why Amumu has highest Win Rate, and low Ban Rate.

Amumu's passive, Cursed Touch, makes ganking mid devastating. His basic attacks lower enemy Magic Resistance. Initiate with Q, Bandage Toss, and smack them on the head and your ally gets a big upper hand. Additionally, your W (Despair) will whittle down the enemy's health while you chase. In team fights, Amumu can engage from a distance- jump in with Bandage Toss and immobilize the entire enemy team with his ultimate, Curse of the Sad Mummy. Once the enemy team is immobilized, with some focus your team can eliminate the enemies quickly.

I think Amumu is an unpopular choice for bans because A- Their are stronger team carries and B- He isn't perceived as the threat he truly is.

I never thought you'd pick me. Amumu

I feel like the Corki rework was created to let people fix stupidity. He does 75% magic damage and can salvage some of those horrible comps. His scaling isn't great but they will still need to itemize some MR to deal with him.

Amumu isn't really all that amazing and is easy to shut down. His winrate is good because what he brings is reliable and hard to screw up terribly. A tank initiator is always useful on a team and he's easy to play. A champion like Nidalee has about 1000 more ways to mess up but if they are both played to full power isn't any weaker. It's just harder to do it as Nidalee and the mechanics involved may not let you pay as much attention to macro decisions. Winrates can be very misleading.

He also isnt unfun to play against. When an amumu beats you, generally you go "well damn we should have spaced a little better so he didnt get an easy 5 man ult". It doesnt feel like he cheated you on a kill, or that he is "OP" per say.

He isnt like blitz, where 1 landed hook turns the game into a 4v5. or a rengar that deletes you faster than you can zhonya. Also Amumu is doing good right now because people are grouping earlier, playing into his strong points at a time when adc's arent killing him as fast yet. Yeah he almost always has a good winrate, but he is a fairly low skill cap champ who sets up good fights and telegraphs to his own team "GO!". Right now it is just the metagame pacing fits him way better. (Also early invades are a little riskier since it is harder to keep up vision atm).

I ban Tahm Kench pretty much every game I can even though he isn't technically OP. He is just extremely unfun to play against (especially top lane). Because his counterplay is "ignore him until he lands a Q, then back off enough to stay safe and just be a threat to other members on his team".

Amumu is strong because he can initiate very well and lock down the entire team by himself for a long time. Aside from that you can stun the ADC quite often with Q as u distract 1-2 ppl in a team fight given how tanky you are (or should be) The reason why he isnt popular is because hes low skill cap, not very fun, and isnt viewed as a "carry" champ.

Amumu : Aoe "entangle". Aoe hard CC is freaken strong. Especially on a TANK. Malphite <_-- Like this jerk. One of a few champions that lower enemy MR naturally, the other being Ryze E. A stun that gapcloses Small Aoe %hp damage Reduces the auto attack AD damage he takes with Tantrum

His kit is good and he gets tanky while building an ok amount of damage. iirc it goes something like item 3001 item 3116 item 3068 item 3047 item 1401 item 3151 which allows him to be quite freaken strong.
