Introduction How does the League community respond to boards?

Experiment Introduce various incentives, and measure the response to each incentive via "votes".

Incentives

  • Boards with hostile titles. versus
  • Boards with pleasant titles.

Conclusion

  • Boards with hostility/ hostile titles were more popular. Averaging over 1,000 views, and close to 100 downvotes.
  • Boards with pleasant titles/content were much less popular. Averaging 30 views, and about 1 downvote.

Added Experiment Introduce a pleasant titled board, in a hostile thread. Outcome

  • Pleasant board jumped from 25 views to over 2k views, and received over 60 downvotes.

End Note It's a sad reality when people seem to deliberately focus their efforts on sabotage. Pleasant boards average poorly. But hate sells. Even if you hate the hate- you can downvote the trolling, you're just advertising interest. The League Community is fuelled by violence and anger. You'd rather spend your time trodding on others, than lifting them. Maybe if you took the time it takes to be so spiteful, and went out of your way to show some kindness- the community would start to brighten up. But- the numbers don't lie. You all want an outlet for that bad game you played. And you're just waiting to snap.

"Incentive" - A thing that motivates or encourages one to do something "Board" - A subsection of the forums in which threads are contained. "Thread" - A group of linked messages posted on an Internet forum that share a common subject or theme.

So I am confused, did you post two threads on the same board, one in a positive and one in a negative light of the same subject? Or did you compare the average views and votes of the Memes and Games Board to the Gameplay Board?

Before you try and pretend you are "doing an experiment" please learn how to clearly and effectively communicate your results. I't would also help if you had actually published a set of threads and monitored them, but if you're going to do a flawed "study" than at least tell us how you fucked up in something we can comprehend.
