"Damn, he's going to hit Gold soon. What can we do to stop him?"

"Lets give him teammates who should literally not be in the same game as him due to division difference!"

It doesn't get much more transparent than this. Look, Riot, if you don't want me to hit Gold... maybe, idk, just ask me to quit with Ranked? Just give me the skin right the fuck now and I'll quit playing ranked forever. Period. On that one condition. Can't do that? I'll have to showcase your crappy matchmaking some more, until I stop being victim to it.

Like, gee, thanks Riot. I really feel your game is super competitive and like I want to become part of the big scene to make you some money. Damn. I feel real motivated to become the best, now, thanks to you.

Do you understand the consequences of matches like this? I'm so fucking close to just dropping League and heading to a new MMO I found and really like, named Revelation Online. You, when you do shit like this, demonstrate a complete apathy to a growing, healthy competitive environment. It drives people away, and you wonder why the LCS and high-tier play is always samey? God fucking damn.

normally i would say something here, but how does a bronze 1 player with 20% winrate get matched in the same team as someone a whole league above him with 56% winrate?

edit.: i went further back in the match history and it shows even 60% winrate overall for solo que games.

the bronze players mmr shouldnt be that high, and the silver 1 players mmr shouldnt be that low just judging by their winrates.

like if the bronze player had 70% winrate and a high mmr, or the silver player an exceptionally low winrate, it would make sense.

but by the look of it, the bronze player should be matched even lower than his current rank if the mmr system made sense.

Matchmaking is fucked up and riot keeps ignoring it for some reason.

i think it does exactly what its supposed to. push you towards 50% winrate.

its not supposed to prevent you from climbing, but i think its supposed to slow the climb (or fall) down significanlty to get people hooked to play more.

sure, it creates shitty games now and then, but as long as people keep slowly climbing they will keep playing.

and the bad or new players who get into ranked games and placed at around gold mmr dont drop 30 games in a row and then give up on the game, but occationally get carried and keep playing.

i think the entire point is to turn somethig that should be a 2 week climb at the start of the season to your own skill level into 2 month, and the same for players dropping to the lower divisions. the point is just to keep people playing as much as possible.

It's super tilting when I get to see the strings controlling the puppet. I just want to get to Gold and go from there.

if your play is the skill level for gold, youll reach it eventually. like i said. i suspect the point of the system is to slow climbs and falls down, not prevent them.

How is that 20%? He was one game out of placements with one more loss than win. If we are estimating his MMR, you do that by looking at who he is matched with and well... It's also not as if he wasn't playing with people higher than that in his earlier placement games as well.

why do brand new accounts start at low gold mmr then?

isnt this kindof nuts? at this point this would mean that riot defaults most new accounts to being higher ranked smurphs.

like people at gold mmr arent that terrible at the game, tend to have a lot of the basics and mechanic down, and often have at least one to two seasons worth of experience at the game. why should an entirely unexperienced player be matched with them then? i dont play at that mmr anymore, but honestly i dont agree that gold is the correct beginner mmr for brand new accounts.

like that guy has 5 recent solo que games and lost 4 out of them. so his mmr should not be enough to play an enitire league above his own rank with other players who have above 50% winrate. and its not like hes roflstomping the games hes playing either.

he just looks like hes out of his league in this one.

He did lose those games but he also won the other ones and performance isn't used by matchmaking. I don't think gold is the correct starting point for beginners by default, there's a lot of people who come into games without experience but do we actually know that's where new accounts start? That's also complicated when accounts are not placed according to where it's determined (even without getting into the mistakes/inaccuracy possibility) but are placed lower for climbing room or whatever.

He had 4 wins and 5 losses in Solo Ranked. That's why he has the percentage shown in OP's screenshot and why I was asking where you are saying he's at 20%.

I have a completely fresh smurf that currently has quite literally started in Platinum but I'm so freaking bored of grinding shit (I just got Prestige KDA Ahri through grinding metric tons w/ the pass) that I really don't want to have to give up ALL of my skins and jazz just because another account is more fun to play on than this one with all of the smurfs and trolls and AFKs and B.S the matchmaking puts me through.

I wonder if they'd erase this account and then grant me most if not all of my pricy skins to the smurf.

The matchmaker is true trash this season. Riot is either blind dumb or dead.
