If you're not at least Plat 3...

...then you have no right to talk about balance. No offense, but at this stage you haven't quite managed to grasp the concept of League and shouldn't speak out on what is OP or not. This game is balanced around the more experienced players executing the more advanced strategies and game plans. Not around low ELO tactics.

So please, if you are not at least Plat 3 ELO, focus on improving your gameplay before voicing your opinion on League's state. We need the higher ELO players to be calling the shots here, not the Gold players banning Yasuo.

HAHAHAHAHA Funny how you think only plat3+ can talk, just because you're platin 2. I'm dia 4 and hey, I don't know shit about balancing, just that some certain things seem bullshit in my eyes, doesn't quite make them unbalanced or op. You have no right to talk either.

DrCyanide3/25/2017, 7:42:57 AM9 votes

You do realize that your arbitrary ban would prevent Meddler from talking about game balance, right?

Riot wants to balance the game for everyone, from Bronze 5 to LCS. They don't let picks that are weak in Plat+ get buffed to the point that they're overly problematic in the lower ranks. Even if some people complain about the stupidest things, it's better to listen to it and try to figure out why they're complaining about it than to try and silence it.

It's been my experience that very few high level players want to actually discuss balance either. They don't want to break down why something is strong or weak, they just label it "Super OP" or "Trash", expect everyone to agree with them, and move on. It'd make for a very boring board.

I'm tired of this elitist attitude just because someone is a higher rank. Yes, in general, most plat 3+ players have better game knowledge than a bronze/silver but that isn't always the case. I know every champions abitlities, playstyles, relative damage outputs and relative distances of abilities/autos. I know how to prioritize objectives, how to properly set them up, how to rotate etc. I know how to transition leads and I know how to play around win conditions.

My success in this game is probably 85% game knowledge and good decision making and 15% mechanical skill. Unfortunately, this can handicap my gameplay because my team doesn't always have the same objective focused mindset I do. I can't tell you how often my teammates will recall when we can take a free Baron, or how often they just keep running it down mid when we could easily be rotating/splitting to take objectives.

So yes, even though I'm silver it's possible for me to understand balance. It's possible for me to understand why Quinn was OP a few patches ago (ability to one shot a squishy when she couldn't be CC'd because of Edge of Night's sheild) or Rengar (one shot squishies building only two damage items with the rest tank) or even Graves now (pretty similar to Rengar, crazy burst, tankiness, and fitting into pretty much every teamcomp in the current meta).

So while most low elo players don't have much game knowledge, some definitely do. To say that none do is pretty generalist and is simply not true.

Elo =/= as game knowledge.

You could have a bronze smarter than a challenger, but they may not have the attitude or mechanics on champions in order to climb.

Everybody's opinion is creditable, its not the content of the player, but the context of the post. If a bronze tells me graves is bullshit, am I allowed to say their wrong cause I'm plat 3?

you deserve more downvotes.

Lol, platinum 3 is shit dude. A goldie in a good lucky streak.

SwiftKitten883/25/2017, 1:09:33 PM2 votes

funny how he thinks rank represents game knowledge.

do higher ranked players generally have more game knowledge? yes... because its ONE small factor leveling up

but they ALWAYS have is better mechanical skill better APM, better click accuracy.. and normally abuse carry or OP champs or champs with low mechanical skill. to try to climb as fast as possible.

i am willing to bet if you took all the people who CLIMBED out of bronze into silver about half of them would be plat if they decent freaking teammates.

your litterally CANNOT do some things in lower elo becuase your teammates are frankly just bad.

you can make an amazing play as a support and set up a quadra kill and half the time your adc will just run away and leave you to die and call u a noob for getting "caught out". the higher you are the EASIER climbing gets.

Plat 3 is still trash lmao

Tiddy Twister3/25/2017, 6:10:57 PM2 votes

Way to jerk yourself off for being plat 2. Idiot. Soon as you hit diamond you will claim that only diamonds can comment on balance.

"You're only good if you are my rank or higher." Fucking %%%%.

All I read here was "I'm a noob and can't get Plat II".

Since when was being plat the same as getting a degree in game theory?

Since when was getting a degree in game theory the same as knowing a certain game's balance-state?

Since when does knowing a certain game's balance-state instantly make you plat?

What about directly quoting players in Masters+? What if I link their comment directly? Does that make me qualified if I agree exactly what that person is saying?

What if I was already saying it before they did? A dang, did I just win with that last one?

The other day i watched qt on twitch and dom explained him how Hecarims E works. He had like absolutely no idea, he didn't even know that it counts as auto attack and procs on hit effects. xD

This shows that you only need a limited knowledge about champions and their stats and abilities to be high elo. It's very simple, you don't need to understand balance or know every detail of all chapions kits, you just need to know what is strong or what works for you.

A lot of balance discussions are actually created by players that only care a for a few champions and are not even able to see the bigger picture, especially one tricks (not all otps but some....well a lot).

To discuss balance you need to stay objective and you need diversified game knowledge, being high elo can indicate that somebody has that, but only to a certain extent.

By creating this topic you kinda disqualified yourself. WP
