OHminus (NA) - a day ago Champ counter picking being the only gate from donger auto winning lane isn't balanced, especially if the heimer is allowed to pick after you.
That isn't healthy game design, although I agree that counterbuilding (while healthier, because it allows you options in game) is almost as unhealthy as counterpicking.
Counterplay in my book is being able to beat a certain champ by "outplaying" said champ (assuming the lane/game is even). If a champ, like Heimer, means an autolose in the lane for a champ like Garen/Darius/Sejuani in the top lane, that's unhealthy game design.

the way i handle pantheon is to pick any champion that can start 
same as he does or one who has a longer reach Q than he does.

assrapes Panth in lane. If Talon lands both portion of W he will outtrade Panth every single time. W also outranges Panth's Q so Talon can always last hit with W and as well as get first W hit on Panth for free poke. Talon is stronger at level 2 but panth is stronger 3-5, post 6 Talon should be able to all in Panth once he's been poked enough; Blade's End does not even need to be procced.

Eedat1 votesI think you're being a bit biased because your main counters him so it doesn't affect you. Think you need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Panth bullies the shit out of the vast majority of top laners with very little effort and unavoidable damage. Also factor in that you don't always get the luxury of counterpicking your lane opponent
If the game was balanced around how a champion specifically fairs against our mains, it would be a pretty poor game. For example, even though Darius completely stomps my main in lane, I've actually defended him on multiple occasions. You gotta look at the champion as a whole as opposed to how it affects you directly
