Not OP, but super unfun to play against, horrible laning experience and feels frustrating to play against even if you are winning. Like fuck I had to constantly use my CC on 1/7 Illaoi because she would just shred our entire team with her ult if we tried any engage. She is not that hard to shut down, she is immobile, vulnerable to kite, but shit if she has more than 2 tentacle in a teamfight she can heal for all the damage you deal to her. The only counterplay she has when her ult is up is to run and hope she doesn't kill you before you get our of her danger zone.

There's a lot of champions that their counterplay is pretty much "don't clump together otherwise the team is fucked" like Amumu and Malphite. At least Illaoi doesn't have an easy engage like those champions though.

To be honest I prefer being stunned for 1.5 - 2 seconds than having to avoing a zone that is as wide as a lane for 8 seconds.

Also malphite and amumu can't deal enough AOE damage to kill a whole team on their own in the right conditions.

You can bait out her ult and get out because she can't keep you in there, or just poke her from far away because she can't easily get into the middle of you team unless you let her. It sucks that yeah she can fight 3 or 4 people if she ults well but you aren't forced to take all that damage unlike being stunned for 2 seconds makes you

She's a lane bully and anti-engage juggernaut and it seemed like she did her job in that, even while behind but you played well to her weaknesses.

I hate facing Ryze and Zyra in lane and I hate it when a darius is running around waiting to clean up a team fight.

Some champs just aren't fun to play against at all, but it's different per person. I enjoy playing against Zed. But not the above 3 I just mentioned. And I'm fine against an illaoi because we (my friends and I) know how to counter her well simply because I'm an illaoi main.
