not because he needs it, or its going to make him better...

but because he was busted OP. namely his W and his R. (i mean just look at that, heals off of baron >.>)

riot just wants those abilities gone.

I, personally am sad because i'll never get to do this again.

its unfortunate that people dont like high bursty moments, instead people want "high action all the time" on basic abilities. but nothing gives me a better feeling then a 5 man galio ult.

No, it's because he was hot garbage friend.

Possibly being able to do that every few minutes doesn't make up for being useless dogshit the rest of the game.

That's also only really possible on a consistent basis against bad players. If Galio can only be effective against bad players, he's bad.

he wasn't bad at all, in fact it was quite difficult to lose lane with galio. the issue at hand is people didn't find him to be "fluid".

old galio should exist as a champion that you should selectively pick, if you need high turn moments... its justified that you have longer cooldowns and lesser lane capabilities. but the flip side is you turn the game upside down later on.

Sorry friend, but you can't bullshit me. Galio was virtually never used in high tiers of play, and high elo players outright called him trash. He has been picked a whopping six times in challenger in NA in the past month, making him the second lowest pick rate champ, tied with a few others.

If he's so great with a team around him, why is he unheard of in the LCS?

Old Galio was hot garbage. Sorry not sorry, but it's true.

I like how, despite that lead, Fizz proceeded to solo kill him in lane. And then he lose a 2v2 with Lee Sin against Fizz and Rek'sai.

Once again, you can't fool me friend. I follow Imaqtpie. I don't much care to watch the Scarra game, but just know that clickbaity youtube videos by streamers is not evidence of his goodness in high elo.

Flashy mechanics mean nothing my son. Maokai doesn't have flashy mechanics, but is often a big pick in the LCS and high elo when good at all due to his kit.

Galio is not. Why do you think that is?

I loved her ult. It turned Poppy into a highly telegraphed assassin. She could waltz into the middle of the enemy team without a care in the world, kill the ADC, and walk away without a scratch.

If you were against her, you could see her coming but you knew there was nothing you could do to stop her. Her ult was removed because it had no counterplay, but it was still a cool ability.

Galio had no coherent kit or theme, and this isn't even close to the same thing that happened with Poppy. Galio was always meant to be a tank.

His kit looks fine to me. Not exactly the most fun gameplay I've seen, but I don't expect that from a tank, and I'm a super badass who plays high octane skill-intensive champions like Yasuo, Wukong, and Tryndamere. Galio does look more fun than most tanks, if not as fun as Sion, who is probably the most fun tank IMO.

That's usually a reason for needing a rework actually. The abilities themselves are just too powerful (not saying that this was Galio's reason).

After all, that's why they reworked Poppy .

Someone should have that Galio ult, it didn't deserve to be removed.

His W was weird though. If I were Riot though, I would have just reworked it to be a spell shield for allies only, and have him heal if the shield is broken. Kind of like Sivir shield. The thing is that way he wouldn't be using it to sit in front of minions, he'd be using it in a proper support fashion in combat. (not that he doesn't use his current W like that sometimes, I just think that it would be better if that were its function.
