With the (tentative) removal of QSS debuff removal... Zed counterplay help?
**I know these changes are not final (pbe changes are tentative) , I'm merely asking what the counterplay would be should they go through.
Aside from building Zhonya's, if a player is playing as a champion that normally builds AD I'm not seeing what the counterplay for Zed's ult will be. Staying out his range is an option, but let's say, for example, that you're Bot recalling after narrowly escaping a gank alone. You've got 25% hp and Zeds come to dive>ult you. He was able to jump on you with w > r (flash if desperate). You cant do much at this point besides attack him because you have no other options other than to run barrier or heal because rushing QSS against a fed zed is no longer an option.
If Zed is able to get to you as a squishy AD champion (marksmen/assassin), He'll be able to assasinate them MUCH more reliably because the one other item that allowed AD champions to have counterplay to his ult is having that ability removed. So in other words, if he gets a lead it's going to be much more difficult to stop him from safely killing champions because of his ults improved reliability with the removal of QSS's function to remove champion debuffs.
Zeds able to delete targets much more reliably now with this feature removal correct? Another example, playing Yasuo x Zed. (Yasuo main, a bit biased on this one) The lane itself is a skill matchup, but now rushing quicksilver to counter his ult is no longer an option. This seems as all AD matchups against him are now forced to rely on their mobility and damage/tankyness instead of being able to remove his ult.
Obviously banning him is an option, and I know these changes aren't permanent but the moment that I saw this change on the PBE it left me confused on what the counterplay to his ult with be for AD champions. I would rather not build Zhonya's on Jinx everytime I see Zed lol... So what is it? What options do they have against this should these changes make it to live..?
