How do you one-tricks do it?
Don't you get bored? I think I'd get bored. How do you even choose a main? So far I've narrowed it down to "I like enchanter supports" but I honestly don't think I could pick one. I keep hopping around.

Back in the day you could select a champ to onetrick and beat litterally anything or at the very least go even with your hardest counters.
Nowadays you can't even onetrick because some autofilled dog can pick a tank and make your life miserable or even the trashiest adcs/mid mains can oneshot you with the ammount of damage everything has.
Im a
one trick, and his skill cap is what makes me happy. Also, because
is such a toxic champ to face in the top lane, I drink my enemy’s tears cause he cant CS. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH
yeah man I can really see the skillcap on gnar where you spam your q and autos until you kill the enemy

i beat every gnar i have come across
I come from a background in fighting games. When you go to tournaments, you usually pick one guy and master him to the point where your “counter” doesn’t mean much. It’s you and your main vs. the world.
That’s how I approach league.
Are you excited for Soul Calibur VI?
Hell yea. Wasn’t a huge fan of SCV, but it looks like they are going back to their roots. I really hope they nail that SCII feel with this one
I started off playing a bunch of different champions and roles. After I got permabanned, I knew it would take a while to unlock all the champions again. Decided to primarily play Evelynn. She's pretty hot
"You only need to click once fool" my champion just told me off.
Ok Kool
Use E: did little maces come up out of the ground and hit that guy in the nuts. Lol wow.
I love this Champion and I'll never look back

I love pressing control 1 in game.
Trying new builds, I used to play Diana only (and only, means ONLY) and tried a lot of build. From full tank to on-hit and even AD. Do this too, you won't get bored
I believe it just comes down to comfortable plays/knowledge of what you're using that makes it more fun to play. Some champions have a certain style to them that makes them feel better than others and if I wasn't more a "team player" I'd probably always play Malph, always enjoyed him, his moveset is simple. I feel really good when I land multi-knockup ults, and it feels good to outplay ranges that decided to try to "counter pick" top with vayne and what not.
I can't get over how goofy Fiddlesticks animations look half the time, particularly his walking animation. For a champion that demands that everyone should be afraid of him, I can't take him seriously. That's pretty much why I like Fiddlesticks & decided to One-Trick him. I also play a ton of Support & have been wanting to pick up jungle, Fiddles can do both rather well.
We have something we just fucking like in our champion designs and don't want to stray away from. For me for instance, I always feel like picking in my small champion pool of like
cause they're so fucking insane in duels and scale so well that I just feel bad if I don't become a fat duellist motherf*cker lategame
Don't you get bored?

Uh. Played her and she is my style of fighting. The nearest to her is
wich I like too. And
.
But I like playing her and did not get bored until now. Perhaps in future - who knows. 1,288 million mastery actually. Perhaps after I get her to 2 millions? [slayer-jinx-catface] I think my next main would be Aurelion.

I think the two reasons why i one-track garen is one, i have a 70% rwinrrate with him, and 2 he goes JUSTICE when he ults and its cool.
Its really hard to explain, when you find that champion you just can never get bored of, you will know it. It may be something you haven't tried yet or something that hasn't been released yet. Then there are just some people that need to play multiple things. Ill say one thing for sure is that it does not feel like a good season to one trick lol.
Yes play everything and u will find out, i always loved lux and after 1 year i realized ziggs gonna be my second main
I choose the champ that I enjoy, simple :P
I started because when I was new to the game, I'd get muddled on which key fired which ability and I'd forget item actives because I was trying to keep my own QWER rotation in mind, etc. So I decided to pick one champion
and "master" her as well as I could so I could expand my focus to other things. I do feel I've now gotten to the point that my Tristana play is half auto-pilot because I'm so familiar with the champion (I have over 800k mastery points on Tristana) but I still have PLENTY of other game play aspects that I can get better at that I still really enjoy playing my main so I don't need to worry about the basics with her. Plus I have all her skins, so I can keep swapping up visual items on her.
But if you're the type to get "bored" with a kit easily, then you probably won't ever really enjoy one-tricking, unless your singular goal is to improve, and even then, if you're past a certain point you probably need a much deeper understanding of as much of the champ roster as possible anyway. I know how basically every ADC and support interacts with Tristana and can plan accordingly for most all of them, but once we leave lane phase there's a fair number of other laners that can catch me off guard with things in their kit, usually right after a patch or significant meta-shift.
But because I like to play my main, I've also gotten solid experience with other ADCs (when she's banned or picked ahead of me) and have also built a good support champion pool. I actually like playing support as a good "break" every now and then and early on it was REALLY helpful because it helped me get a feel for what my supports were trying to do and how to work with them. Which is also probably a big reason I HATE support Fiddlesticks and am not fond of other "mage" supports. (I've gotten used to Brand simply through repetition tho)
As an add-on, how many people "secondary" the primary "ally" of their main role? ie. if you main one of the bot lane roles, you secondary the other, or if you main Top/mid you secondary jg. As I noted about bot/sup interactions, I think it can really help your mentality to play the role you likely interact with most as your main.
I personally believe you cannot play bot lane unless you can play both. Support and ADC are intertwined and you need to know your partners limits and abilities. If you don't you end up in situations like "Soraka why didn't you auto her" or "Sivir why didn't you use shield."
No other lane is so heavily connected.
There are personality types that can do it, and others that cant.
A lot of it has to do with mastery. When you play one champion for a large number of games, over time you begin playing the champion instinctively and you no longer really think about what you are doing anymore. This makes it a lot easier to relax. Generally one trick player's mechanics (on said champion) are also slightly better than players who main a larger pool of champions. Take Gosu on Vayne for instance, he's better than almost any other Marksman player with Vayne, but not always better as a whole (with other champions). The same could also be said comparing different Riven mains such as Viper and Adrian Riven. Viper (who mostly only plays Riven) is actually more consistent with his mechanics on Riven than Adrian Riven (who plays a slightly larger champion pool). The difference is very minuscule, but it is there.
When you become comfortable and are used to only playing one or two champions, other champions do not quite feel the same. Some champions have faster or slower animations and spells, some do not wave clear as well as others, and the range on auto attacks and spells differs greatly. For a person who usually just plays a single champion, trying to adjust to another champion becomes more difficult due to those said differences between champions. This is a large reason why a lot of players stop being a OTP (One trick pony). Having complete mastery of a champion impairs your judgement on other champions greatly. On two champions with the same items one champion's auto attack might be enough to kill an enemy, while the other champion's will not. As a OTP you will know that your auto will finish the job on your one trick, but then when you play another champion that very same thought ends up losing you a fight.
Anyways, a OTP knows there is always room to grow. That's the biggest motivation behind playing the same champion over and over. It's more about the little things and using a champion to its fullest capabilities. Most players with a larger pool of champions usually doesn't care about things like that. LCS players are perhaps the biggest example. These players are simply looking for synergy and counter picks, they could make another champion work if they were good enough but the effort it takes to OTP a champion that much isn't worth being able to use a larger pool of champions at a (very) slightly lower level of play.
You do it by knowing how fast you rise in ranks. Once you reach a safe point after a Promo, you play around a couple games on other roles/champs to breathe, and then go back at it to try to get the next rank in 7-9 games.
I know it sucks, but you have to find a champ you love to do it with.
You can always learn to one trick 3 different champs btw. I'm at competency in about 13. I Main
, but depending on the patch/teams,
can change her trends/influence.
I hold 5 KDAs or better in these champs:
. There's about 10 others I can guarantee a 4 KDA on, but rarely play them.
high skill floor/cap champions will for sure help you stay on the champion. also if the champion is universally fun, like Kayn. Complexity will help too.
When team builder was a thing I use to play Nasus non stop, then switched to Shen and played him nonstop too. Miss that gamemode to be honest. You'd play the champion you want, in the lane you wanted and could join another lobby if you didn't like your comp.
Riot should have ditched blind pick and left it to draft and team builder.
I play Ashe, I like her level of CC. Ashe, Leona, Sejuani, Maokai, Poppy, and a few others that just have 3 or more CC spells. I like crowd control.
I will never get bored of
10k hours
It depends on the Champion. I'm a Jungle main and coming into the start of the Ranked Season I was really focused on mastering meta champions. That got boring. Lately I've been spamming a bunch of Udyr, of all champions, and I'm still not bored.
Gotta play champs you're the most comfortable with. I avoid the Ranked aspect of this game due to the fact I can be rather toxic, and I hate sticking to one particular role. Focusing solely on a specific aspect of the match will eventually lead in me either being singled out and piled or the team giving up on me...that and I usually monitor the repetitive nature of the other team and adjust my "gear" accordingly...thus throwing me off the "beaten track for that role"...which thus, is considered extremely toxic these days. Ok, enough rambling...
TL;DR
- I play em for the utility. You can go pure AD/Pen/LS, or ADC gank...or straight up assassin (as he's intended to be played).
- Good troller once level 6...great for lures and CC if you play her right (
are great for aiding in this early game.
- fun to play as CC and Force-Laning...but you have to be careful since his gear mash-up requires both AP and AD + Def...hard to choose how to go about em
- One Trick Pony trolling characters. Most get mastery on these as a non-biased necessity.
Pick 5 champions, roll with them in practice, play a few AI matches, hit up the PVP to challenge your "found play style", once you're comfortable...One-Trick pony yourself with that champ IF you're "matched party" will even allow it. Gotta remember, not everyone will want you to play
as a choice for the match...especially if they're rolling out champs like
or some bull s#$t like that.
Dont know what I'm talking about? Riiiiight...that's why I stay unranked because I hate following the "set champs". Elitist's annoy me to no end...and while not everyone in Ranked aren't elitists...the animosity and behavior of majority of players in Ranked states otherwise.
Play how you want, pick who you want, just watch your opponents play style and keep track of their JG at all times so you can either assist or pull a hard team orchestrated pile. That is all. [slayer-jinx-unamused]
They are the same gamers who join a game and grind 24/7/365 until they have maxed everything in the game... and keep grinding after. They exist in all games.
Sadly my brain works, and I get bored of tedium.
Play one that has a lot of depth. On support
and
are great picks to one trick since there is so much you can do on them. Only problem is when your main isn't viable it becomes very disheartening and frustrating to fight uphill or have to play another champ.
The obvious answer is no. A more subtle answer is maybe one trick enjoy the game differently from you.
I one trick Sona Support because I find learning all the different matchups in bot and what I build in response to that matchup us interesting. To add to the complexity that match by match you have different ADCs, some passive, some aggressive, and some somewhere between.
How will I handle each?
Now a strong counter to that is by learning the macro parts of the game right? Concentrate on that and bingo that can take any player a long way.
Then it, for me, becomes a funtion of time. How long can I play this one trick and try to equalize a part of the larger support game so I can concentrate on improving something else?
For me I must play one support, because playing mutiple supports all the time increases the time it will take for me to reach my goal of consistency.
Last season I played Sona Support, and just now I feel comfy branching out.
Another benefit for me is that counter picking me say blitz to my Sona is in my favor because of how comfortable I am. Keep in mind I'm a low elo player so my opinion may change if ever I get my self past Gold.
and i have faced at least 150 gnar players and mabye lost 2 or 3.
