Lucian vs Caitlyn

This is something I just thought about, id like to here some opinions on this.

Safety

Lucians E Cooldown: 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 and "Relentless Pursuit's cooldown is reduced by 1 second (2 against enemy champions) for each Lightslinger.png Lightslinger shot landed."

Caitlyns E Cooldown: 16 / 14.5 / 13 / 11.5 / 10

So they have similar safety.

Single Target Damage

Lucian does enough damage combined with his safety to be a viable mid laner right now.

Caitlyn is still in bot lane.

The Nerfs

Lucian is getting way lighter nerfs than Caitlyn. This just makes absolutely no sense to me, since they have similar problems in having a lot of single target damage for their safety. Does anyone know why this is?

auto range is a big factor in this and also lucian is a caster adc unlike cait which i'm pretty sure is attack speed/crit reliant

To be fair her single target dmg is almost enough to say she's a caster. Although "almost" is kind of stretching it abit.

They do NOT have the same amount of safety. It may seem that way based on the cooldown numbers, but you have to remember even when escaping Lucian can use his two autos to reduce the cool down by four seconds, if he hits a champion. Combined with his other abilities, there's eight more seconds off of the cool down.

But when we consider that there is melee midlaners, auto attack range isn't incredibly important if the rest of your kit manages for it.

And every melee midlaner has multiple ways to close gaps. My point is that you don't NEED as much mobility if you are longer range. Look at Lux and Xerath as examples.

Because if you look at the last patch he actually dropped in win rate and play rate so the nerfs to cleaver did something. To avoid putting him in the dumpster again they are nerfing the meta build he has. Just let the patch play out again.
