Are we even meant to win in onslaught?

Because the boss was at 2K left then suddenly a bunch of vel'koz (large and small) bordered the entire map and just let loose, seriously, this is like dark souls being a bigger dick than it already is.

your shit made no sense there when the RNG of 3 diffferent possibilities (vel wave, Cho and Kha swarm, or some of everything) chose to be a total prick, which had nothing to do with us needing to "git gud", noob.

Rank has nothing to do with a co-op mode, "git gud"

Actually it does, compare a plat's jinx damage to a silver's jinx damage. Or a higher elo support (janna is a big one) to lower elo support.

Just because it's a PVE game mode doesn't suddenly mean lower elos have all the skills/mechanics of plat+ players.

Moving on there will always be two escort missions, so if you're not jinx or mf (the two champions that can't afford to build defense imo) you should grab some magic resistence or health points just to increase your own survival a bit, make sure you dodge all you can even though you have defense stats doesn't mean you should face tank everything when you could have just dodged it.

For some reason i thought you were complaining about the escort missions, ill just leave that there.

For the boss round, kill champions first always then attack the boss till the next wave of champions spawn, should be 10x easier now.

lol tell that to all the bronze/silver players struggling with this mode, and the plat+ players who smash it

Dark Souls is unfair/hard/fake difficulty

Please.

Please let this mentality die.

Oh sure, Dark Souls II and III are just idiotic namco milking the "YOU DIED XD XD XD" meme for all its worth and the game devs asking "How can we make the player die?" instead of asking "How can we make this area/boss/encounter interesting"

But Dark Souls, and especially Demon's Souls, are not meant to "be a giant dick." They're punishing because you're meant to take your health seriously; they're challenging to create a sense of pacing around areas of differing difficulty levels and set up climactic moments. But it's the most infuriating thing that the "Dark Souls is so hardcore, praise le sun ecks deeeee" meme persists long after the series has become stale.

That out of the way yes onslaught is a cheese-fest in which you have to rely on RNG not giving you Vel'Koz or Ubercharged Kog'Maws to get through.

I've played Dark Souls it's not near impossible, difficult, but not impossible, though I was just speaking in a metaphoric sense.

i won one game so far. 2 games we made it to the boss. but i havent played that many.

it requires team work, which in public random party is not found that often personally i've only won like 2 or 3 times and lost the other 10 times or so.

and you depend on your team mates for this to work. That's why you can't compare it to a solo game lol. Where you can beat everything solo. Here you pretty much can't. You lack the damage to solo it, or the mobility to do so.

The most difficult level I've found is the Vel'koz path level with all the bullet hell and skarners. My group dies to that the most.

The boss is pretty difficult but I've found focusing down the mooks while kiting the boss is the key to success. Staying close to each other is important as people die a lot easier when separated (though I've found that with the devour sections you can have the targets run around to keep the Cho's busy as your team removes the other threats).

Items that work off allies are extremely effective. As Poppy my biggest success was the basket strat where everyone put their buffs on our Jinx (I bought knights vow and used stoneborn) and focused on protecting her. The amount of healing spread throughout the team gets nuts, hence the focus on teamwork.

Which as a game based around the magical girl anime in which friendship is a key factor in progressing, makes sense.
