If i get hardcore feeders on my team every single game, then how is my rank determined by my skill?

It's not good enough to be better than the enemy team. You have to be 3 times better, because your botlane is 0/11 15 minutes into the game.

An individual game shows the skill of your team. The average of all games you have played (since you are the only common factor among them) shows your skill. The former is what people typically worry about, particularly during placements, however the latter is what ends up deciding your rank at the end of the season.

Last season i would agree with this statement, this season is only the land of feeders and trolls.

This season has different rules for placements but placements have no standing whatsoever on your rank at the end of the season. Nothing else involving rank has changed. The number of trolls, feeders, and the like fluctuates throughout each season, so if you are patient and keep practicing things will get better.

Way to not understand slot machines. Slot machines are specifically designed so that over the long haul, "on average",they have a specific payout percentage.

oh ok because you can do something about your team feeding 5 minutes into the game.. (sarcasm) the only way you could carry a team that this guy described would be if someone afk'ed in the enemy team and your team managed to not lose and hold out until late game..

This is a team game, therefor playing with people who are worse then you is beneficial when fighting those better than you. (Sarcasm)

Their ranking system clearly show this game is 100% based upon if you win or not. There's absolutely nothing that determines whether or not if you play as a team you'll win or not, if you win, you advance, if you lose, sucks to suck. However on the other end of the spectrum you have losing which has multiple faculties. Like I said, this ranking system is convoluted, it shouldn't be in a 5v5 team based game. It should stay in Starcraft 2 where it originated from.

If you have a small sample size (like, I dunno, 10 games), there can be a lot of variance. Sure, if you played an infinite number of games, you would find your "true" elo, but early on, these things will make a difference, so I can understand the frustration.

Keep in mind, though, that while you might have sucky teammates one game, you might be carried next game by someone else... but you aren't as likely to notice that (it's easy to give yourself credit for your part in team wins while blaming your losses on the poorer-performing players and ignoring your own role)

There's SUPPOSED to be a difference. However, in practice, low ELO results, and slot machines, are functionally identical, in terms of wins. That's why there's a PROBLEM.

Note: dont talk about things on a theoretical basis. You dont experience this. You're at 1200 ELO. So, dont shoot your mouth off based on number theory. LISTEN to the actual experience of those people who actually have to deal with it directly.

Actually, according to OP.gg, my MMR is 1600, and I still experience hardcore feeders, sometimes multiple games in a row. I basically made this thread to vent though, there is a little truth to it. People feed in my games, and make it impossible for me to win the game unless im somehow extremely better than all the golds and plats on the enemy team.

I, a gold 3, have to be considerably better than a plat player to reach gold 2. And that doesn't make much sense to me.

My last match I played our Xin Zhao said he could only take jungle. He then died to Raptors, told us to ask for ganks. I asked him to gank top, he got caught in enemy jungle and died to their top lane. He then tried to gank from on lane, when I wasn't there, and died to their top lane again.

I can't even. He was trolling in chat, feeding in game, building bad items and I am still motivated to avoid playing Ranked cause of this. I'm afraid to place cause of teamates like this.

my 1200 remark was to redniwediS, for what it's worth. sad to hear that there are still that level of idiots in gold, though.

Thats why I tried to propose in some forum, a new game mode. I guess you might call it "solo team ranked"

has to be a full 5 premade invited team, but can be just from your casual friendlist, rather than a commited, named team. (and people have to be close in MMR/rank to join the team)

I think that is about the only solution to "weed out the idiots".

That is a good question. And here is your anser. You can't get high ranked by your self. Its a fact. Your team needs to do well too. If you want to go up in rank I would Q with another person. You can't do it by your self. I know this because I played 3.5k games just to get into silver. That was luck, and just keep playing. When you Q with some one you have a better chance to turn the game, but can't do it by your self. its just a fact.
