Rift herald meta. Swapping lanes permanently?

Dragon is clearly more important than Rift Herald. However, if your team has the ability punish the enemy for attempting dragon, Rift Herald's buff is clearly better on ADC than bruisers because:

  1. Supports let them live longer through protection and/or sustain, thereby getting more out of the buff
  2. ADC take towers faster than most bruisers, which means more minions survive to benefit from the massive AS boost if pressuring for an inner tower
  3. the MS bonus is better on ranged than melee because the absolute value is identical

So assuming your bruiser and mid can really punish the enemy if they try to dragon (not necessarily take dragon themselves), what would keep a duo lane from going top and going for an early two towers in top lane with the buff?

And if this does happen, would that be good, bad, or neither for the meta?

A friend and I talked about this. We considered that support would become more roam oriented, first starting in top, then going to bot.

never gonna happen in solo-queue.

if that were the case, you are going to see a lot more blitzcranks. no support means hook=insta death

I think it's to stop lane swaps in LCS. They're not fun to watch and don't really test the skills of the laners vs their counterparts.

i think they mentioned the Rift Herald packs quite a punch and takes reduced damage from ranged so i think i would be taxing for a bot lane to do it early
