@Riot what role is Shaco supposed to fill?

I honestly can't tell what he's supposed to be. Is he a bruiser? A fighter? A tank? If he's supposed to be an assassin, how? An assassin is supposed to be capable of killing an enemy carry very quickly. Shaco can't do that after the nerfs- building him full ap or full lethality still won't kill anyone before his long cooldowns leave him stranded. Meddler said that his nerf is okay because he has "tricks" but that seems to mean he's not expected to do anything without his ult, which is pretty counter-intuitive for the champ we all know "dominates early, falls off late".

I can't tell what direction Riot's intending for him anymore. Triforce into full tank was the dominant build before the nerf and it'll continue to dominate anyway, but I miss being able to actually kill people.

He fills the "useless" role because Riot has a hard on for nerfing Shaco while other assassins like Khazix Rengar Talon are allowed to be broken ezmode for years

He's definitely an assassin. He gives up some deletion potential comparatively because he's able to show up out of nowhere from the enemy's perspective thanks to his stealth (it's not camouflage bte, but rather legit stealth), and he has pretty great CC (box fear is awesome).

Shaco's role is simple....it's to frustrate the enemy team into a surrender, kinda like Teemo and Singed. Only it doesn't work because there're always two assholes on the team that parrot, "we can win," while forcing their team to continue playing, ignoring the fact that they have no towers and are over 35 kills behind in a 22 minute game.
