Can we talk: "High risk, high reward"

I like Riot's philosophy of risking yourself for high reward but it irritated me that some champ are very safe pick and snowballs even if behind. Champion such as Ryze. His kit is not very skilled depended and all of his skills are point and click. He scales out of mana but most mana item give some sort of resistant, cdr and health. He does not have any real weakness beside kiting and win early. He can fall behind but he will be a late game, tanky, high damage monster. I felt that Ryze has too much damage, tankiness and simplify his kit is for how safe he can play. I play champion like riven and Yasuo and I felt i actual earned those kills for the risk i take. Overall i just don't felt satified playing ryze or losing against ryze. Tells your thought about champion who felt that risk too low for their high reward or champion with high risk for little reward.

Thing is that some champs are fine some places and a problem in others.

Ryze vs a Mage or even some assassins in Mid lane is high risk high reward-he's low range so he gets beaten up and is easy to kill early in mid. It's when he goes top that he becomes way too easy.

Same with Lulu-in botlane where she only has cc for one target and both can attack her, she's fine. In top lane she's a problem.

It isn't just ryze, but nearly all champions that have high burst kill, but don't become health weak as they gain attack. High risk would mean that they have no escape (think fizz here ... ton of damage and bounce out) or zed (jump in, jump out), syndra (knock you back in an instant, stun you and then do a ton of damage). Nearly all assassins ought to be dead if they get lots of damage. Damage and survivability ought to be inversely proportional ... building damage should decrease armor, magic resist and health. Want 4000 attack in under a second? then that champ should max at 100 health and have no armor or magic resist. That would be high risk/high reward. With most champions, there isn't any risk because they can get a kill in under a second, and just timing it right guarantees they get away with it. High risk would mean they can't tell if they will survive. Otherwise it is no risk, high reward.
