Stop banning Veigar

He really isn't worth it. The only reason why he seems strong right now is because he counters the champions that thrive in the current meta. This is the meta of All-In. Champions that are popular are:

with others among them.

These champions are designed for hard engages and all-ins. Veigar counters them with his Event Horizon. Azir gets played because his Emperor's Divide walls off these champions from engaging. Viktor has incredible zone power while negating all-ins with Gravity Field. That's why Veigar was played in the LCS.

Now, Veigar has been getting popular with the community for his appearance at worlds, and people are having difficulties dealing with him. That's because people aren't changing their champion picks when he shows up, and he crushes them. I have the solution. These guys:

These champions (other than Galio and Malzahar) are all long ranged poke champions with high burst. They can stay out of range of Veigar while dealing their own damage back to him. Malzahar has the ability to shut him down and push him under tower, while Galio has the sustain and durability to survive the lane and still be effective for his team. These guys have some form of CC in addition to their long range, and they all work well when they use or for their summoner spells.

DON'T BUILD WHEN PLAYING AGAINST VEIGAR. I cannot stress this enough. His ult deals more damage based on your AP. gives 20 more AP than , and gives no magic resistance. Buying against Veigar is asking him to kill you easily. also gives way more mana regeneration, so it gives you the ability to poke him down for longer periods of time. Buy at some point as well. It may not be the best item for the artillery champions, but it gives you way more defense and takes away some of his raw damage, and since he is a short ranged mage, you can fight back and he will be under the effects of the passive, granting you more damage against him. As the AD characters, rush against him. The passive shield will keep his burst down, and has a really high AD bonus and a lot of magic resistance.

Veigar is no where near as oppressive as people say he is. He counters the current meta, so play champions that counter him. Just because champions aren't "in" the current meta, doesn't mean they don't counter champions that are. In fact, every champion is viable because the ones that are "out of meta" counter those that are "in the meta" in nearly ever case.

Think outside the box. Don't just spam what is "in" and cry when it doesn't work against something without changing your picks and behavior. Stop wasting bans on Veigar.
