To those of you who were "never in Bronze"

Though you may have never been ranked in Bronze in your League career, you were a Bronze level player at one point. I get tired of hearing people say "I was never in Bronze, so I'm naturally better than you" to a Bronze player. You were Bronze too. We all were.

I played Dota 2 before this, so I think I was at least Bronze 4 when I started. :3

What if you're Korean?

I was definitely bronze at one point. I often mistook Definitely Not Blitzcrank for Corporate Mundo when I first began. When you're expecting a cleaver and get rocket arm pulled under their tower. No fun.

This post is just really bad. It'd be better to say we were all beginners once instead. That would actually be true. However, you cannot tell someone that they're lying if they've never been bronze, that's just extremely idiotic.

i had dota experience from the original W3 mod. After i hit 30 i was always playing against silver/gold in season 2. When i hit 30; jumped into rank and got silver.

Some of us are never bronze, we play well once we learn the game 1-20. Bronze is only when you are clueless when you are level 30.

But most people are not that quick at learning things.

I get the point you're making but there are lots of DotA/Smite/HoN/HotS players, Starcraft players and Warcraft 3 players. If you are good at any of those games you can watch one game of LoL and be decent.

I was in bronze 1, now im in plat 3, I don't even play ranked that often too. I've found that ranked typically doesn't mean much, a player can be silver and wreck a diamond. The idea that bronze players are instantly worse than you is ridiculous.

It's an interesting though point for a discussion. I think most of this thread is mired in right vs wrong, but it's bc of two opposing views that are more ideological than logic based and so people don't listen to each other.

League is an interesting community in that skill is treated very differently based on perspective. 1/3rd of bronze thinks they are better and that rank is about luck rather than skill, so people react to threads like this as if they are put forth from that perspective and trash them. 1/3rd doesn't really care and is just enjoying the game w/ their free time, but they know they don't have the time to invest to really get better so they don't worry. The last 1/3rd haven't learned many of the basics of the game, but they want to/know they haven't, and so threads like this show up as a reaction to players who are condescending and insulting to these players when the lower ranked players just want to get better.

I think the better question than "you realize at some point in learning we all had bronze level skills right?" is instead "why does the community treat lower rank/skill players so poorly instead of trying to help them improve?" To me that is a much more interesting and important question when it comes to league.

I've never been in Bronze. I got placed directly into silver 2. Still trying to get out. I just don't play enough ranked.
