It's an interesting though point for a discussion. I think most of this thread is mired in right vs wrong, but it's bc of two opposing views that are more ideological than logic based and so people don't listen to each other.
League is an interesting community in that skill is treated very differently based on perspective. 1/3rd of bronze thinks they are better and that rank is about luck rather than skill, so people react to threads like this as if they are put forth from that perspective and trash them. 1/3rd doesn't really care and is just enjoying the game w/ their free time, but they know they don't have the time to invest to really get better so they don't worry. The last 1/3rd haven't learned many of the basics of the game, but they want to/know they haven't, and so threads like this show up as a reaction to players who are condescending and insulting to these players when the lower ranked players just want to get better.
I think the better question than "you realize at some point in learning we all had bronze level skills right?" is instead "why does the community treat lower rank/skill players so poorly instead of trying to help them improve?" To me that is a much more interesting and important question when it comes to league.
