support item nerfs in 8.6 notably worse than previously thought
So I recently made a post about the proposed support item nerfs in 8.6 but what i failed to notice is that all of the compensatory buffs that are being provided only effect T2 and T3 support items. This means that T1 support items will be extremely impacted.
Assuming youre gaining the max amount of gold from the items specific passive the nerfs to total gold generation will be:
: 20.9%
: 25.4%
: 21.4%
If we account for more realistic use of the item specific gold generation:
:** 21.4%**
:** 25.5%**
:** 24.6%**
We can see here that edge users who fail to make use of their passive's full potential have the potential to see the largest gold income decrease while relic and coin stay relatively constant between best case scenario and actuality.
If we look at T2 (including the proposed buffs) the effective nerf to gold generation will be:
Best:
: 18.1%
: 23.1%
: 17.0%
Actual:
:** 18.9%**
:** 23.6%**
:** 21.4%**
The large decrease in gold generation for edge users between optimal and actual is still clear even at T2.
As i mentioned in my linked post, edge users will also suffer the most as the match continues due to infrequency of viable targets to proc their item specific passive.
All of these percentages don't even account for the disabling of all gold generation mechanics on minion kill which is a significant nerf in its own right.
Overall this will be moderately to majorly detrimental to supports and seems wildly uncalled for. I mean if they wanted to test such a large nerf of ~20% they at least shouldnt be combining it with the change to the deactivation of gold generating passives.
