Lissandra is finally getting "looked at"

as per the notes from meddler in the 2/9 pbe update, he makes no promises but acknowledges that "shes too weak and her passive is not interesting" he says shes slated to be looked at in "8.6ish". I know she needs help but judging by all of riots past fixes on my favorite champions I can't help but expect them to ruin her :/.

You need to ask yourself this question

"Does Riot play Lissandra?"

If yes then the change -->CAN<-- be good (not WILL be good).

If no then it is going to end like the Master Yi change.

He clearly stated that they'll likely rework her passive AND (or at least) give her more power. He did NOT say SLIGHTLY weak, he said she is WEAK. So yeah, I'm expecting a lot.

How can they ruin her? She's practically a troll pick at the moment. She's at rock bottom, so the only way she can go is up.

theyve made a habit of completely changing core mechanics of a champion when all the champ needed was some tweaks, this is what im worried about with liss. Granted her passive is bad enough that completely replacing it wont change her much at all but if they change any of her skills mechanics aside from resetting e on kill or assist it could have a large negative impact on how she plays

The thing about Lissandra is that her skills are so simple in execution, that she doesn't have many core mechanics other than the hard CC in her kit. Her trickiest spell is E and R, and they're really iconic to her kit, so I doubt they'd alter them dramatically. The rest of her kit is simple and straightforward, and even if they gave her a mini-game passive that dealt with her CC'ing people, there's not a lot they could touch to ruin her.

Another 6300 BE champ that isn't a must-purchase? Why make a new champ and reduce her BE cost when you can just remove her from the game!

I actually like her. But there are a lot of champs I like that I don't own yet.

Why is that relevant?

They did rework her passive like 6 months ago. That change would have been pretty welcome but noooooooooooo, let's gut that concept as soon as it is tested on PBE. I don't trust anymore anything related to Lissandra's passive

That passive did not fit her playstyle. It was highly experimental.

You act like that passive was super fitting and effective.

Your being very unreasonable.

I miss playing Lissandra

What if they made her passive something like "Gain "x" mana for applying cc on a enemy champion."

Would be generally the same thing but works by how well you play instead of time.

Make it so the 2nd part of Q slows and she would be in a much better spot.

However the new mage items might benefit her more than we think.

in most cases having q slow on the aoe part wouldnt make any difference and in the cases that it would it would leave no counterplay for her enemies. It's mechanics are balanced as they are right now.

Her mana is not an issue right now so changing her passive to offer more mana wont solve anything. Her main issue right now is that she has the weakest max burst of all burst mages. Secondarily she lacks the survivability required to play as she was intended by jumping into the enemy team to shutdown a priority target since the current meta is so damage heavy.

The new mage items are going to be relatively negligible to most burst mages and possibly be a tiny nerf due to shifting of mana and cdr around. DoT mages however are going to see a huge buff.

we'll in 4.10 i got a nidalee rework, while it did make her much more shitty in aram.. in rift his is not only much more balanced with much more counterplay.. but she is MORE FUN!!!

I can only hope you get as lucky as i did

Design wise I thought the past changes were amazing mostly

I made a passive suggestion that should fit her theme as an Ice Witch and Burst Mage here. Come check it out if you want. Basically, it makes Lissandra attempt to corrupt enemies with Dark Ice over time for bonus damage and rewards.

JarodDempsey2 votes

definitely not a fan of that passive, iit encourages her to stay near enemies too long. Shes a very tactful burst mage who sits in the backline until just the right moment when she bursts into the enemy just long enough to kill a priority target. Also your giving her dot which really doesnt fit lissandra, dot is more brand's thing aka burning, let lissandra be unique in having flat burst instead of being another dot mage. Also the que change is untenable, as a cone you'd have to shorten the range too much and it would simply change it too much mechanically. For better suggestions regarding her passive from someone who has actually mained her for multiple years feel free to look here I think the suggestion i made under 1: for survivability would be a good passive.

Thanks for the feedback, but I'm not sure I understand the second part of it. She wouldn't become a DoT Mage because of one 1.5 second DoT on secondary targets, and her Q already has a cone?

JarodDempsey1 votes

idk i just see dot on the ice passive and what she really needs is pure burst. Also q might look conical when the shard splits upon hitting the initial target but it actually creates a linear/rectangular aoe in the direction the initial shard was traveling and not a fan shape like annies or panths aoe skill

What was the pbe passive change? Also i quite like her, although a buff would be appreciated
