when i fight lucian i think "oh my his W does to much damage plz nerf"
gj riot..................
gj riot..................
Oh no there goes my one trick AP Luc
ikr im so sad, only way i play lucian..
All they had to do was revert the Q buff they did to try and get him play in Worlds. They make all these changes to try and influence Worlds, and then they forget all about them.
"Oh hey, this fun-to-watch champion is fine in casual play but weak in proplay, let's buff 'em!" "Oooh, this boring-to-watch champion is fine in casual play but a must-pick in proplay, let's nerf 'em!" "Oh no, Worlds was over months ago and these champions are in terrible states, how can we fix 'em?"
Every. Single. Time.
Lmao, -10 damage xD
ignores the +20 mana on a champ with mana issues
Then again Lucian doesn't really use his W aside from priming his passive or at level 1 (people will probably move to taking his Q first). The nerf is for the most part irrelevant.
Well, since lucian is mana hungry, the 20 mana increase makes it so he runs out of mana faster if he wants to use w to reduce e cd time,if he doesent he dashes less. Its not a huge nerf but it is better than noting
Lmao, -10 damage xD
LeBlanc all over again.
Yeah this is a garbage completely irrelevant nerf.
It doesn't nerf his level 1 trading enough which is the point of it.
-10 damage on his level 1 trade +20 mana is pretty significant early game, especially considering his low mana pool and his snowball condition relying on dealing enough burst damage at level 2.
So now not only is his early level all in slightly less damaging, but he can also not go for it as often.

Yes, but it's still an irrelevant nerf. He's still going to 100-0 you at level 4.
I think that all the time when I face AP lucian
Sorry, but doesn't this change his level 1? From what I know, lucians take W lv1 because it does the same damage, but it has a further and unconditional cast compared to his W
So from what I see, his level 1 is now noticeably weaker. I'm not saying it's gonna shove him out of the meta or make his winrate drop by even a full %, but I also don't think it's fair to say that it does nothing
lol they nerf oris shield by 25% at lvl 1 bc her damage was a bit too strong pre 7.16 but now lucian is melting people in early trades and they reduce his damage by less than 12%. #riotlogic

The ori shield nerf that reduced the duration had everyone scratching their heads too.
This actually matters more than you silver players can admit. In case you didn't know but most people take W level 1 because it has high base damage and costs nothing, allows him to farm from range if he is ever in a bad spot and harass the enemy for basically free. This will mean he can still do it, but he iwll be punished through mana costs severely if he keeps doing it.
Pretty much it just slows down Lucian early game and makes him have to choose a bit more. Does her use his Q for greater damage, or does he use his W for a bit of poke that might not be worth the mana cost? Overall, Lucian is on the strong side and this probably isn't enough, but gating him behind his mana costs further early on isn't a bad idea. One must also remember that crit items are being changed next patch so stay tuned...
No lol. His Q does the same amount of base damage level 1 (with only a bonus AD ratio) and he won’t be able to use it on the enemy lane lvl 1. Actually he’ll do more damage with W since people have higher base armour + take armour runes against him.
And also you can start proccing manaflow band early. Like in a good lane: Q auto auto does the same damage as W auto auto. Except with W auto auto you stop all retaliation with your move speed disengage after short trade so enemy can’t extend trade and abuse Lucian. In bad lanes you poke and proc manaflow band for free.
Reducing W level 1 base damage + buffing Crit ADCs is effective nerf to him.
It isn't a big damage number so the board won't like it either way.

Um, bullshit on it having "high base damage". His Q and W have literally the same base damage. It's literally just used because it outranges other tools, it allows him to take cs that'd otherwise be dangerous and its splash is useful for lv1 clear. Its a slightly better version of Q lv1 though otherwise people would just be taking Q.
Seriously, you can still take W or Q lv1 and it's not going to affect his placing. Even with -10 damage on an ability that's used to shove the wave and last hit some creeps that are slightly too dangerous that's not affecting his combo game, scaling, aggression, ect.
Maybe if it was like -20 damage or more it might be significant, but minions still have nothing to offer against magic damage and W still has a convenient splash and Lucian's lv1 is not why he's powerful. Having a decent lv1 means he can powerspike more often but tons of ADCs and Supports have better lv1 than Lucian. His lv3 and midgame is really why he gets really busted and the fact he can use his single worst dueling ability and still have solid base damage in lane should tell you something about the flaws in his design.
This is from someone who likes the champion btw. The Q is fun and his passive is unique, but its extremely busted and W is clearly a filler skill for his flaws. There's a reason the thing is maxed last.

"Lucians level 2 power spike" didn't become a meme for nothing. You seriously underestimate the impact of that mana cost nerf.
But hey, I have dedicated followers who downvote all of my posts so I don't expect this one to stay visible for long.
like i said before people start W for the Manaflow Band proc. and not maxing it first, maxing it last. and its still worth taking it lvl 1 now cuz you still get 5 more mana.
And he's going to burn an entire mana bar before level 2?
Omg he"s gonna be gutted...
like i said before people start W for the Manaflow Band proc. and not maxing it first, maxing it last
btw i know the "silver players" but i have been playing for less then a year and i already got to gold on my main account :) http://prntscr.com/me4q4y
the sad part is that, just below that pbe change, sion got hit on both his main ability. How can they nerf core part in one case (good idea of what they must target) and do unoticeable change in other (lucian this time, but voli ult buff was the same thinking)
That is going to teach them a lesson. XD Lmao I swear to god it looks like balance team is making some sort of internal joke with some of these patch notes, I swear some of these nerfs seem like them humoring people that complain about X champs or straight out trolling us.
To be fair its more about the mana that the ability takes. makes it really bad to start w. plus with them moving ER to a new item he wont have a easy mana fix and the ability to play URF at the same time. I know it does not look like much, but its going to do more than you think.
4000 damage ult, but -10 damage will fix it.
When I lane against Lucian I think "god I hope he goes out of mana earlier cuz he's spamming like a mother****** to abuse me in lane and I also wish that my crit items were not trash btw"
+20 mana nerf and crit is buffed, Lucian is nerfed enough I think.
I think its cuz most high elo lucians starts with W lvl 1 and some even put a second point in it before maxing Q.
That explains it. Balance is for viewers, not players.
It's actually remarkable how few changes are designed to improve the experience or enjoyment of the millions of people playing this game.

I am not displeased by this. If the crit item changes are decent enough, he will be fine afterwards. If not, we can go from there.
ARAM lucian nerfed to the ground...
When I'm fighting Lucian in lane, I just thinking of how much pain I'd give him late game
Are they actually just nerfing AP Lucian wtf
