I see a disconnect with the mage patch.

Basically, Riot nerfed individual components of immobile mage kits while giving them new power spikes when using their kits in specific patterns. The player base, however, doesn't seem to jive with the nerfing of the individual components. I haven't had much time with it, but I've at least seen one success case with a Vel'Koz I just played with.

Still, from the community's end, what's more important to a mage? The individual spell spam or some unifying mechanic that ties the parts together? Which is more important to define a kit with?

Most of the idiots complaining thought that this was meant to be buffs instead of reworks.

Despite Rito very clearly stating several times that most of the champions involved in it weren't meant to come out stronger for it.

Rework =/= Getting trashed.

If there's one champion who came out stronger because of the Mage Update, it's fucking Zed.

Riot's definition of rework is removing up to half of a champion's strength for a gimmick that's either completely worthless and counter-intuitive ("Marksman" Mordekaiser or everything about Cassiopeia since her first rework) or something so overpowered it doesn't matter (Solo dragon Malzahar).

Noticed the same thing.

Everything revolves around these "all or nothing" plays

I love this patch. It makes the champions more mechanical to a point. Like Anivia for example, no longer can she throw her ult out for a second, and frost bite you for half your health, but instead, she has to wait 3 seconds which is ample time to escape. So now anivia mains need to find a work around it on how they want to play, the trades they do etc..
