Lee sin circlejerk is getting out of hand

Literally every day on boards all I frickin see is "Lee sin this" and "Lee sin that".

I'm sorry, but Lee sin isn't OP right now. I'm not a Lee main and I've probably played like 10 games of Lee in my life. Like the rest of you, I play against him constantly.

It boggles my mind when people argue that he shouldn't have a 50% win rate with 41% pick rate on a "highly mechanical" pick.

So what you're saying is, that a champion that CONSISTENTLY has a 15%+ play rate, the players will literally NEVER learn his mechanics. Like a highly mechanical champ should literally never have a "good" (its not even good) win rate. Lee isn't even that highly mechanical, like sire he has some mechanics and specifics but it takes like 5 games of him to understand them pretty well. Unlike let's say Nidalee or Azir he has LESS decision making (because of tankiness & safety).

Also the dumbest shit I hear is "Lee sin just RQQs you and 1 shot". I'm sorry what? I'm an ADC main and I legit have never been RQQ 1 shot by lee sin (ok once, but he build full lethality when it was busted). Like if he wardhops onto you, lets say E + auto + tiamat + ult + q + q still isn't enough damage to 100-0 you if he isn't ridiculously ahead in levels and gold (with jungle changes, he's rarely more than 1 level above the ADC, meaning theres no level 6 lee walking into your lane when you're level 4).

Like he's annoying sure, but he's not OP. Also he isn't "defining' the meta either. He's not even close to the strongest duelist in the JG right now (ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING HE DOESNT GET RED SMITE - He's out dueled by almost every JG once they get red smite). The reason the meta is Elise/Lee sin is because they provide heavy ganking and aren't punished for it at all (in season 6, heavy ganking meant you'd be 2 levels behind your enemy JG, which would be REALLY bad if he counter ganked with ult and you were level 4). Also they'd have an opportunity to scale (because games didnt end so early). The jungle XP changes encourage mindless ganking over farming pretty much ALWAYS. Which makes junglers that try and scale's lives miserable (Graves is able to operate because he scales, but is ALSO very good early + provides REALLY GOOD tower siege early game, opening up the map).

I mean c'mon. I'm more sick of Lee sin hate on boards than I am of actually seeing the champ...

I agree.

Prepare yourself for the downvotes though. They're coming.

You're right about one thing: he's not OP.

He's broken. And he has always been.

I guess here's my take on it.

I don't hate Lee on principle. I don't hate Lee by merit of his popularity or power. What I hate about Lee is that, after an initial learning period, it becomes clear that you're never REALLY in danger. Every single one of Lee Sin's abilities can be used to leave a fight, or dangerous situation, albeit circumstantially.

Does the circlejerk need to stop? Sure. I can agree to that. Whining about his pick and win rates is pretty pointless, and at this point is redundant. But there are actual problems with the Blind Monk, and I can't really get behind telling people to shove it until the situation is addressed.

I play with a plat Lee Sin main allllll the time, and the dude only shreds face when our enemies overextend and give him a huge opportunity to get ahead.

People hate Lee because they don't play against him properly. I'll go into games with Lee on my team, and when I get sweeper, I see MAYBE one or two enemy wards throughout the entire game - against people like Lee, Elise, Kha'zix, and Zac, that's INCREDIBLY dangerous because of the gank paths they can take. But people would rather whine about the champ than play defensively for a bit.
