Rengar's rework didn't work
He's still the same, but now he snowballs stupidly hard thanks to his new Bonetooth necklace Can we go back and try again?

Rengar is in no way the same as before.
It's possible for people who aren't Jax to dodge his combo now.

That huge "skillshot" called his Q? You can reduce the damage, but dodging it is almost impossible if he's facing your direction.
Some abilities (and flash) are capable of being used to dodge his Q nukes, which is why I already like the new Rengar 200% more than the old one. Playing vs a fed Critgar (pre-rework) was the most miserable experience I've ever had in league due to the fact that flashing away didn't even mean anything to him.

The fact is you still have to either A: Have a really good dash ready every time he wants to attack you with Q B: Have Flash ready
If you have neither, you're fucked and you're gonna get chunked That's unfair, because his Q has A: A low cooldown B: Deals LOTS of damage and scales VERY hard C: Has no cost. In fact, spamming it makes it STRONGER
I personally don't like facing the reworked Rengar, but I have to say that it feels a lot more fair than playing against the pre-rework in my opinion. At least you can dodge the reworked one with some things.
Back before Rengar's mini rework, pre-assassin rework, he was utterly unfair when he was fed. And then he got a lot more fair after that, and now currently has the most possible counterplay Rengar has ever had.
Flash and similar abillitys could also be used to avoid old rengars damage.
With old Rengar, once his Q attack started (leaps counted), the damage was unavoidable regardless of how far away you were when it finished. And a skilled Rengar knew how to abuse the tiamat/hydra reset in order to land the maximum possible damage in the shortest possible time frame. Which, back in S5, was 0.01 seconds to 100-0 someone if the Rengar was fed.
Thankfully, his mini-rework toned down the ridiculousness of his burst until this rework came out. The biggest difference between new and old Rengar, is that you can now dodge that nuke. In some cases, old Rengar could still kill people AFTER they finished teleporting/flashing away.
EG: Recall completing right before Rengar landed, TF ult completing, teleport completing, etc.
Bola was the only bit of old Rengar's kit that could be consistently avoided with flash or other mobility abilities, and in a lot of cases that required as quick reflexes as you need to flash dodge reworked Rengar's Q.
Not to mention that the Emp.bola + Critgar Q youmuu's that made you unable to escape the damage even if you flash dodged the bola was a thing as well.
Only the initial AA was undodgable, the Q reset only works if your target is still in AA range after the first AA, which isn't the case if the target flashes duering the leap animation, hydra can also possibly miss if the target flashes right befor you use it.
The first AA still is unavoidable, and it still deals massive damage. And while you can avoid his Q a bit more easily than old rengars followup. it is still quite hard to avoid and gives just way more follow up damage and aoe. I've gotten a tripple in under 1sec with leap+hydra+q+w+e+q. Old rengar had a bit less counterplay, but new rengar still doesn'tleave his victims with much more options, especially if they don't have very potent mobillity tools in theri kit or instant hard cc and has more devastateing impact if his followup lands.
Biggest difference, and the one I like most, is that Rengar benefits less from just camping one poor person early on.
the argument hes making is that you can flash out of his combo.
i think we should nerf him, wait, and come back with the diver update. I really don't understand why they wanted to rework him as an assasin, diver is far more fitting for the bulky cat. Go in, stay in and fight your way through. But balanceing him around bursting people just won't work...his ult gives to easy acces to the target to allow quick burst, and he lacks any tools to disengage/reengage so if he can't bring down the target in one go, he's shit. That means he'd either be a monster or usless as assasin.
IMO he seems worse.. now that he only needs 4 points to get an empowered skill, he gets them off more often in fights.
The only nerf is that he can be seen coming in while stealthed.
My thoughts, here:
Rengar mains, unite!
He's weaker than he was before. You saw bonus damage in his passive kit and assumed it would be op.

The problem is that he has the same "feast or famine" problem old Rengar has. Nothing's changed in the way he plays the game.
The first time I encountered the reworked Rengar, I happened to be playing Soraka. I proceeded to ruin his day by dropping an e whenever he came for my carries.
Old Rengar dgaf about Soraka. By the time you saw him, you were already dead.
The rework isn't perfect, and the numbers might need some tuning, but there's undeniably more counterplay.
As someone who mains bruisers like
and
, enemy Rengars feel no different than before his rework.
