Pretty simple really. In congested situations, Thresh's lantern can extremely hard to select, especially when you're under pressure.
There needs to be a key combo, such as shift+click, which will select the lantern above everything else. This could be incorporated into other things, such as Bard's portals.

There are multiple things wrong with your post which make it pretty stupid.
Mate, when champions are avoided like that, they get reworked. All Thresh needs is a way to prioritise lanterns.

I was, for the most part, joking.
Thresh does not need anything that remotely resemble a buff. Being able to body block is the one counter play we have against his lantern which is one of the most powerful ability in the entire game.
