She's not overpowered, she is just not fun to play against.
Playing against her isn't a challenge, it's a chore. Even when you feel you've successfully outplayed her, lifesteal from her tentacles ruins it for you.
Removing her tentacle lifesteal would make her less of a chore.
As long as her vessel mechanic works the way it does, I will ban her absolutely every single game I'm able, and will request her banned when I'm not the one banning. Every time. There's nothing cool about needing to recall but not being able to because I'm gonna be spawning tentacles that will kill me for the next 90 seconds. Even if those tentacles extremely, EXTREMELY minimal damage, I will ban her every time because that's absolutely obnoxious, I just want to be able to recall and get back to playing the frigging game. Either have the ability kill me and put me out of my frigging misery, or have it go away so I can go back to playing the game. There is nothing cool or fun about this ability. It's toxic and degenerate.

Fix her Q hitbox, lower the vessel duration.
But yeah, she is basically another champion Riot designed to fuck over melee champs who Riot doesn't care about anymore. Look at Gnar, Azir, Kalista, reworked Darius, Kindred, Tahm Kench, Ekko, etc...

Nerf a champion that pros call "Unplayable" and "Troll", that'll just make her worthless.
whoever designed her should probably not design champions anymore.
not saying that to be rude but she is one of the most annoying champions to lane against. her kit and damage is not fun to play against.
Her E is too easy of a mechanic to gain such an advantage, but she is very immobile, if you're good at dodging tentacles then you win.
Dude Illaoi is hella fun to play against. Just pick any melee champion ever, once you dodge her tentacle spells you can win every trade.
