My kneejerk reaction to the 'Shield Bash' rune in the 8.22 PBE Cycle.
Please, please, PLEASE don't add this to the game. Shields are one of the strongest defensive abilities you can have, they don't need to be one of the strongest offensive abilities too.
Shield Bash (R2) Takes place of Bone Plating [New Effect] "Whenever you gain a shield, while still shielded your next basic attack against a champion deals 5 - 39 (+1.5% Bonus Health) (+8.5% Shield Amount) bonus adaptive damage (minimum 4s proc window)."
There's no clause for melee or ranged and there's no clause for self-shielding versus gaining a shield from an ally. I am not really looking into the numbers, but this type of rune promotes unhealthy gameplay.
Think about it for a moment, who can realistically use shields and how big are these shields?

Now I don't know about you... but I seriously don't want to be fighting any of those champions WITHOUT this rune, now you're telling me they get to have amplified damage based off of their scaling shields? YIKES.
Edit: Maybe people don't understand why I don't like this rune. It's because it supports non-interaction with your opponents (fighting when your shield is up and then just doing a mini-grasp proc, heaven forbid you're running grasp as well) and is probably gonna be either busted or useless. What happened to designing things with both strengths and weaknesses? I get that bone plating wasn't all that great either but at least it had a long downtime, this thing is just free damage every time you get a shield.
Edit 2: Oh yeah, don't forget about these fun and interactive champions with spammable shields -
or as Hashinshin would put it "oh look twitch chat, another shield!"
While the gargoyle will reduce the dmg from the attack it will still only do alittle bit less damage than it would without gargoyle at all due to the hp increase.
on allies.
