PSA: Draven is very strong right now

Slave Knight··62 votes·3,116 views

Be wary of this mustached killer Draven for the rift belongs to he and his resurfacing brings bad news for you and me. Translation: Draven is a lane bully and deals massive amounts of damage. When he gets big, he gets really big (and so does his ego). Please don't feed him guys.

-Regards, your toplaner.

Its not like you always have a choice. But yeah, this happens too often.

You do, draven is just gonna shove the wave. Run away when he tries to autoattack you and farm under your turret. Yea you'll give up cs but that's better than him snowballing.

dominusx4 votes

at least he takes skill to be played post his oppresive lane phase. Unlike 90% of adcs who either right click or spamm a signle spell from fog of war

just say their names lul

Jinx Rockets. Sivir lots o poke Yasuo needs nerf Twitch meta slave of a champion, crap version of darius bleed MissFortune useless without ult, useful with ult. all around retarded

SwaT 106 votes

and then there's people who say jinx takes more skill than draven... :D

dominusx1 votes

nothing except her E takes skill.

Juggernaut6284 votes

Sniping people across the map with her R doesn't take skill? While I don't deny Jinx doesn't take as much skill to perform well on compared to Draven, she most certainly takes more skill than just her E.

dominusx1 votes

Most of the snipes happen on stationary targets aka you move your mouse to the spot they recall and press R. that isnt anything special. it's not like you yourself guide the missile to the spot. it's a fire and forget ability aka doesnt take much skill. Not like anything in this game takes actual skill tbh.The only thing i personally find hard in this game atm is Riven doublecast flash combos. NOT the shy combo the doublecast combo. Everything else is pretty braindead.

And Draven's R does what? Shoot little Dravens?

Both ults take skill, which cancel them out, leaving the insanely hard Q juggle left.

Juggernaut6281 votes

I never said Draven didn't take skill, I said that Jinx wasn't without skill. It was never a comparison between them, it was an opinion of Jinx. I was replying to the comment on her E, not the comment saying people think she takes more skill than Draven.

In other new grass is green and Cassiopeia will probably get her next skin after Yorick got his 16th skin.

PSA: When is he not

Oleandervine3 votes

I had a Draven deal 2K of damage with one spinning axe through 120+ armor. I had 3000 HP. This shit needs to stop.

I would believe that someone named momentum would know something about snowballing champs

Death by Glamour2 votes

Yet they buffed him recently because they didn't want to nerf vayne...

SwaT 1010 votes

dude wtf is that guy even buying

DarkRitual11 votes

Ghostblade isn't terrible on him, when you actually get ahead early. The refillable is the questionable part, but I can understand the thinking. It's fairly gold efficient if you go back to the fountain often, but limiting to 2 shots untill upgraded is pretty bad.

Rito Staff3 votes

if you start counting the ammounts of potion you take to lane :PP xD I always get refillable and that's it. And Cull XDDD

Don't critique the build if you don't know what you're talking about...

Currently, Draven has two build paths:

Korean of Youmuus+Cleavers+Crit/Atkspd item

and

Traditional/Behind: IE/BT/atkspd item

Can't complain about Draven if you don't know how he works

cleaver? seriously?

Depárt1 votes

Yes? Cleaver is a pretty common korean item on adcs and it's where the GB>cleaver build on Lucian and MF originated.

Why does it surprise you that they would do it on something like Draven, it is/was really good.(not sure how it performs after the cleaver changes)

I understand cleaver on MF/Lucian because they max stack it super easy, but Draven hits like a truck and ideally wants to kill you in under 5 axes

Depárt1 votes

It's not about always being able to stack it quickly, cleaver's synergy with flat armor pen is extremely good and also helps to deal with tanks while dumpstering squishies at the same time.

The way flat armor pen works is it increases your damage by a flat percentage, the less armor the target has the more that flat percentage is.

Taking 30 armor from a 60 armor target gives you a much larger increase than taking 30 armor from a 200 armor target. Flat pen is calculated after %pen and since cleaver counts as % you can reduce their armor by a lot before the flat pen is counted and massively increase the effectiveness of flat pen.

This is only counting the passive, cleaver has good stats for the price that are pretty attractive to carries.

Troll for Trump1 votes

And it offers CDR and HP for a carry with no peel besides his long cd E(and a halved rage buff which helps with axe catching). Otherwise they'd probably take Last Whisper.

Troll for Trump1 votes

Yeah. They really like that item.

Not anymore after nerfs probably.

It's not as bad as you think, though it's too late to try now

Gelmous2 votes

it doesn't load it's just blank ??

His build is bad and he probably sucked

Depárt1 votes

Still a mediocre pick that relies too heavily on snowballing as he always has.

MrHaZeYo1 votes

He just as a higher skill cap so he's a hit or miss champion on yours or the enemy team.

Arakadia1 votes

so he's a hit or miss champion

Thats really bad for game healthy tbh.

Well I mean if you take out half of my sentence lol.

This. Guy. Only. Plays. AATROX. HOLY SHIT.

Germanicus1 votes

the biggest problem with this champion is his play style kinda requires you to push the lane, which makes you vulnerable to the enemy jungle.

Thegreatxiu1 votes

But alas Draven will never be as strong as he was in Season 2. The golden age of five BTs and one IE. 2500 damage crits literally 1-shotting the enemy ADC. Just imagine if a character could have that much power now. Lifesteals so much he out duels the best duelist. Crits so hard he out bursts the burstiest assassins/mages. DPS's so hard he out DPS's the most dedicated Vayne. Lifesteals so hard he tanks better than the tankiest tanks. Oh those were indeed the days.

Zzenji1 votes

I dunno how to stop him. Whenever I try to stop him from feeding he'd just shut me down in a second [zombie-brand-mindblown]

woodvsmurph1 votes

Yeah, the only reason draven is allowed to be as strong as he is is because most adc's don't know how to play him. He's overloaded and I still don't know why (I do, but disagree with it) Riot buffed him not too long ago. I'm sure they just wanted to create some interest in draven and get more people playing him, but people who already knew how to play him well could bully most lanes and this just made it that much more impossible to counter him for the majority of the player base. Still I do appreciate they are trying to look out for some more forgotten characters. Galio Urgot (and reworking others).

"GGEZ" you know the Draven mains (like me)
