My problem with Darius as a champion

Why does Darius get free AD from his passive just for damaging an enemy champion 5 times? I wouldn't ask this question if the amount of AD he gets is a low amount but the fact that it scales from 35 - 230AD is actually ridiculous.

You give a early/mid game champion that is a lane bully, that can solo kill most top lane champions at level 1 or 2 such a massive compensation in the late game. He is a early/mid game champion for a fucking reason, his late game should be weak but no. Let's give Darius at level 18 a ridiculous free amount of AD of 235. That is 7000 gold worth of attack damage handed on a silver platter for an early game champion in the late game.

This is why people hate this fucking champion because even if you put him behind in the early game, he can still 1v5 and carry.

No other champion in the game gets that much AD and other juggernaut champions fall off late game if put behind early. You put behind a Garen, Yorick or Illaoi in the early game and they become useless in late but with Darius it's another story with 235 free AD already added to Trinity Force, Sterak and Conqueror.

Revert the passive back to the pre juggernaut rework.

That 7000 gold worth of stats is absolutely useless if he cannot access his targets. Juggernauts are meant to have very high yet very situational damage.

That 7000 gold worth of AD is still something. What about other juggernauts like Garen, Illaoi or Yorick? They don't get free stats when they reach their targets.

Their damage is backended in other ways. Garen’s is spread out over his E duration, Illaoi has her W cooldown, Yorick has his ghouls. Darius’s sustained damage is from his passive. Plus, those champions all have plenty of %HP damage to scale into late game. Darius needs his exorbitant flat numbers to keep up.

Garen causes Armor Shreds on his opponent after 4 ticks from his E. Secondly, he gets bonus Armor & MR from simply cs-ing.

Illaoi deals %HP damage with her E.

Yorick turns a 1v1 into a 4v1 with his ghouls & Maiden.

Uh not free stats, but plenty of other things like insane aoe and high scaling abilities (illaoi) or natural tankiness and the ability to oneshot a single target more easily than Darius (garen). Darius is a poor late game champ because he has a hard time stacking in many situations and just as hard of a time reaching any other targets when does reach max stacks because he either dies too fast or they run until the passive is down. Please stop over exaggerating everything just because you don't like dar. If he gets his passive ad nerfed, he's going to need major compensation buffs because the rest of his kit is proprlortionately weak without noxian might activated.

which is funny, because most people dont understand that this is exactly why garen has his villainy passive.

to make his damage situational. putting the passive on the strongest guy on the enemy team makes the fight at the same time still relatively even.

they just expect riot to remove it and not keep that power in his kit and still allow him to deal shitloads of damage afterwards. without the villainy passive, theyd just buff the rest of his kit again and make him almost as strong as against the villain, against anyone infront of him.

congratulations, youre not "getting punished for doing good" anymore, but youre getting punished for existing XD.

Unfortunately, it’s also why Skarner has his spires. Extremely situational high damage, in a “feel-bad” package.

because he's the least mobile juggernaut in the game and has the worst target access of his group. because his damage is the most backloaded of his group's locked behind sticking onto you long enough to get 5 stacks or by landing his combo. darius isn't even an overbearing lane bully; he beats tanks and a handful of shit-tier early game champs like Yasuo and Camille, but almost everyone else puts him at a 50/50 matchup or wins against him.

if you're really bad and you think it's a good idea to all-in at level 2, then sure. but we don't balance the game around bad players.

his late game should be weak but no.

again, he has no internal mobility whatsoever. his late game strength is balanced out by the fact that he can only run at you; he's piss easy to peel, kite, and lock down, AND his damage steroid requires him to get on you and stay on you long enough to get his passive, when he has one of the worst attack speeds in the game.

a melee carry being able to carry games? how horrible

and having to get 5 stacks sounds nice, but youre already gonna have 3 on you before you can even really move if he Es you.

lmao even ahead Darius can't 1v5. Don't know how people have trouble with him, he melts like butter when cc'd way too fast for a champion who is supposed to be a frontliner.
