Some fun with the "Transcendence" rune in PBE

"Transcendence" is a rune which turns any bonus CDR past the 40 cap into 1.4 AD or 2 AP PER 1% CDR over the cap.

IJust want to show how this Tier3 Rune is actually one of (if not THE) most powerful rune available at the moment able to nearly any champion into a force of reckoning with a little Midnight oil.

Galio https://i.imgur.com/7sLQkVg.png (could probably replace a Banshee's for a MAW. Couple that Lifeline active with Nullifying Orb Rune to really play into that "Magic eater" Fantasy

Singed https://i.imgur.com/OqDSGI8.jpg (with Insanity Potion on)

Jax https://i.imgur.com/pXPIxvE.png (Another amazing pick with Lethal Tempo/Press Attack!)

Fiora https://i.imgur.com/CIru9Fa.png (probably the scariest one here if you remember that "Press the Attack" is totally a thing and Fiora will be supplementing her AD by 9 every Q and auto attack could probably realistically replace the second MAW with a Deaths Dance or Bloodthirster against a low AP comp and Fiora basically becomes a un-killable demon god)

Taric https://i.imgur.com/8i2uCOv.png (this is actually incredible if you remember Tarics natural insane AS steroid and press the attack If you can start whacking someone your AP will steadily skyrocket increasing your heals)

Tryndamere https://i.imgur.com/o6wGQOc.png (Because Tryndamere gets free crit chance from his passive this feeds into Essence Reaver giving everyones favorite barbarian a little extra mileage from this rune. also at 1HP this increases to 533 AD! I Find that Lethal Tempo makes more use here than Press Attack. the extra AD tends to be overkill and its much better to cover your lack of AS with such a build)

Diana https://i.imgur.com/FyzBfci.png ( Diana who also has a built in AS can once again make use of Press the Attack to supplement her AP. You can finally play Diana as a true bruiser!! Rejoice!) This build also works for Rumble

Jinx https://i.imgur.com/z96u8UC.png A slightly tankier rendition of the typical Jinx build complete with some AOE shred!. please note however there are probably WAY WAY BETTER options when it comes to DPS builds for Jinx . This is just an example build that might be possible in a Protect the carry comp. A Jinx with Rageblade,Bork and Lethal Tempo would probably destroy this build in a DPS race so I actually dont really recommend this heh

anyways I just wanted to show off the Theoretical builds making use of Transcendence ability to double down on CDR for cost efficient builds. Out stat you opponent and bank on Press the Attack/ Lethal Tempo for damage!

remember kids. With these new runes the SKY is the limit! If you cant think of a runepage for your favorite champion then take chances, make mistakes and GET MESSY!

not sure if its really overpowered.

what it does is effectively just change the stats the item gives you into something else.

over cdr cap an item like item 3083 becomes an ad or ap/health item instead of a health/cdr item.

item 3078 effectively gives you more ad, or adds ap instead of giving you cdr.

its just a different form of stat customization through items, but youre still paying gold for the stats.

Tryndamere looks really impressive for example, but his only attack speed item is item 3078 and item 3006 .

I never said it was overpowered.

Just a REALLY REALLY good rune that easily outclasses focus and celerity (you only need 20% CDR over 40 to beat Absolute Focus AP wise). It literally lets you turn defense purchases into offensive ones which is something Riot has explicitly stated they try to be careful about. I Just think its worth keeping an eye on

heres another Theorycraft

Anytime Ryze Overcharges he gains a a 663 shield! (I feel bad for anyone who's physical damage vs this) and in a pinch he can activate Seraphs for a Shield around 1k Hp. This of course is super weak to magic damage but thats easily solved. by replacing an item with Abyssal.

i mean, its still a lot of time until preseason hits, and then rpeseason itself there is going to be a lot more balancing done.

expect a lot of those numbers on those runes to change, and maybe even some runes turned into something else entirely along the way.

so enough time to make other runes more impactful and/or have the stats off this rune reduced a bit.

press the attack is probably the biggest bullshit they could come up with in how much power they put in that keystone compared to the other runes for example. im 99% sure theyll just end up putting a cap on the effect like fervor.

otherwise, you could just go with attack speed/tank builds with this rune no matter what youre playing and start outscaling everyone else over the course of a fight.

hmm so your saying Press the Attack is whats busted and not Trans?

Interesting thought these builds would be much more tame if their powerlevel was finite.

You've gotta tell me faster what these runes do. I have no clue so this post means nothing.

10% cdr at 10 minutes, and every point of cdr over cap gives you adaptive ad or ap.

this means you could do item builds that stack to like 80% cdr and the 40% over cap are converted into ad or ap. basically allowing you not to waste gold for going over cdr cap.

its a sorcery rune.

assassins could do builds like item 3071 item 3142 item 3147 item 3812 item 3156 item 3158

for example and get the 40% over cap converted into more ad.

practically turning item 3158 into ad boots.
