So Kassadin Mains, how do you think he'll be affected by the upcoming item changes?

Recently I've been thinking picking him up again in time for the MYMU. Now, I personally don't play Kassadin as much as I'd like, with the last time I even played him with frequency being shortly before preseason. While I got a decent understanding of the champions overall, I wouldn't call myself an expert so if I say anything that seems a bit iffy, just correct me in your comments. Anyway, to the topic at hand.

One thing that stood out to me the most, was an abysmal lane phase. The amount of times I spent pushed into tower because of my utter lack of waveclear was just too much for my tastes, considering I'm accustomed to doing the oppressing. E is nice at the later levels with more AP but it suffers exactly like Lux's E, it will never outright kill minions, not even the casters. However, in the update we'll be getting the Hextech GLP-07A(did I get that right?), and I'm seeing some potential here. The item forfeits the RoA stacking passive instead for the Catalysts HP<->Mana passive while gaining the Frostbolt active. It deals decent AoE damage in a cone and slows for .5 seconds. Honestly, this item looks perfect for someone like Kassadin, it gives him waveclear, some added utility and thanks to his passive, a nice 30% damage mitigation on magical hits.

The new Tear looks interesting, as I can finally, maybe, potentially buy it on him. Not to say Tear couldn't be built on him before, but unless you were on ARAM, it was basically lane suicide(or maybe that's just me). Aside from looking like an interesting pick up now, I'm not sure what I think about this item. As always, you'll want to rush Tear to get the stacking passive going but then you'll probably be holding off on Hextech GLP, which means you end up kind of having the same problem with current Catalyst/Tear rush. However, the Awe passive just looks too good to pass up. 25% refund on Riftwalk coupled with W's mana restore just seems amazing and can really help that transition. So I'm kind of conflicted on whether or not it's a good pick up or not.

Morello's however is a definite must buy in my opinion. CDR plus an increase to my mana pool? In the words of Sky Williams, "Yasss, Slay me." Seriously though, the flat mana definitely gives it space in your build thanks to the mana scalings on your ult and as always W mana restore. CDR is just a great stat on any assassin overall and it gives a sizeable chunk of AP to boot. It's like they reworked this item with Kassadin in mind.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts made word vomit. I'd like to see what everyone else thinks about the future of our resident Rift Walker.
