Why play Rengar when you can play Twitch . Ranged version of him that does not warn enemy team of his presence and can one shot multiple people. Hmmm?

Yes I do, and I play Rengar. It's not like you get one item and suddenly you burst people 100-0 with Rengar instantly. It takes time due to his jump flight time and his Q mini-cast (which you can avoid).

Nocturne is a better Rengar since they don't really get an adequate indication as to which target Nocturne is diving, AND his mid-air combo is lot smoother than current Rengar's combo. Additionally Nocturne does pretty much what old Rengar did, camp the shit out of the enemy squishies and eventually base-camp them if you're pubstomping.

The only difference between the two champs is that Nocturne can choose to go off-tank and still burst like a mofo, while Rengar needs to devote most of his build to damage to remain relevant past his 2 item powerspike.

There are a number of champions like that. I play Garen, when I could be playing Garen 2.0 instead (aka Darius).

The major play is the same, the strengths are better on the new one and all that, but it's the little things that make that lesser character shine. Something tells me you don't actually want to know why someone would prefer Nocturne to Rengar, you just want to vent a little about a Nocturne player or the poor general state Nocturne is in.

I just thank my lucky stars that 90% of enemy Nocturnes I see go for that dumbass on-hit build with Blood Razor.

Warrior Lethality Nocturne eviscerates squishies the second he sees an opening from halfway across the map. Heck, bruiser triforce Nocturne is better than on-hit.
