First Impression on Nexus Siege
Admittedly I'm posting my thoughts after a single round of NS.
Post game result, we win.
Post game thoughts... Not as good as I was hoping for. As a game mode that is only temporary, it sure has a big learning curve. All the new "siege" items we have to figure out force us into a situation where we're wondering if were doing the right thing. On top of that, having two item menus is confusing. To be honest I was looking forward to NS but it turned out to be way more convoluted than I could have ever expected.
And that's my main beef with the mode. It's a little too nuts and it requires a lot of play to figure out. I was hoping for something a little more casual considering it's a special game mode. If I'd been in control of creating this mode I'd have done away with the three lanes and made it one lane only. On top of that, I'd make the extra "abilities" you can buy passive buffs that you don't have to use as summoner spells.
Based on my first play of NS I don't think I'll be trying it again. It really isn't my cuppa. It didn't really give me the feeling of playing a true "siege". It gave me the impression that you had to use "tricks" to win. What I mean by that is your main advantages don't come from sieging or defending well. They come from smart rotations and taking advantage of knowledge of the game mode's special weapons.
