Old client allowed for item builds. Old client gave you actual stats about your ranked play. Old client is currently > than new client.

Collection->items tab.
As an added bonus, you can even select preferred item slots so your items will be organized when you buy them, strictly an improvement over the old version.
Old client also wasn't laggy as fuck. I can run 27 different videos on Pornhub, a music playlist from Youtube, and still raid in WoW just fine, but this new client lags the hell out every time I so much as click anything.
They have item sets... and you can easily look up your ranked stats on like 27 different websites that will give you way more information.

Old client couldn't check all champion masteries. You could see your top 3 mastery 7 and like 8 mastery 6 and that was it.
