Add an Item Testing Gamemode

Wackyorb··34 votes·1,026 views

So nobody probably remembers the tutorialsAmumu , but i feel like it needs an item testing game mode. This gamemode is based in either Summoner's Rift or Howling Abyss and gives the player unlimited gold and an item in the shop that lets the player buy levels.

summoner 4 This would benefit the game in 3 ways:summoner 4

  • Youtubers would have an easier time doing ability previews if they didn't have to farm beforehand
  • People can theorycraft builds without going into games and "trolling" (biggest benefit)
  • New players can try items and try being overpowered without the stress of a 30-40 minute game

It's about time we added more features to help the community rather than just improve the gameplay

IF YOU WANT THIS PLEASE UPVOTE SO RIOT CAN SEE WE WANT IT [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

"But that would take time, and we wouldn't make any money. So no." -Riot's response to anything related to a sandbox mode

I really wish something like this would be implemented though.

So i'm not asking to test skins or test champions, just items. This way riot wont be losing money in any way, shape, or form. If riot can't at least consider this than i've lost all hope in the future of league.

How'd they even lose money from that? Do they seriously think players would constantly play a test mode, against low-grade AI opponents (which is a standard in other MOBAS sandbox modes) instead of real deal just because they can use more champions/skins in there?

No, the only money Riot will lose is the one that goes into developing sandbox mode. And as the above poster said, it would take time and money and bring none in return. "Player focused company" my ass.

I couldn't agree more.

You get a small arena room and up to five straw dummies to test on. You lvl up once every two minutes. All items in the shop are free and can be swapped out freely. Visiting the shop resets cooldowns.

Upon hitting lvl 18 you have ten minutes to finish testing your build or you will suffer an automatic lose, and yes, it will count towards your mmr/rank.

This is either the worst idea I have heard today or the most clever joke this week.

Riot doesn't want to be concerned with people, "abusing" any so called sand box mode, answer, make it so that people are limited on their use of it. It may not be the best answer, but hell, I'm trying.

I think had a similar Idea for a stat comparison tab where you pick a champ, the champs lvl ingame, Mastery /rune pages and an Itemset. then it gives you the stats you will have from all of that. Afterwards you can then adjust pages or items to see how they compare to the one you had.

That would be another great use for it! I would definitely use that

yup. its needs to be added. should be an option in custom games. unlimited gold checkbox. and straight to level 18 checkbox

Riot if you can hear me, anything is fine you don't even have to make it fancy (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

ChaosThief2 votes

Doesn't even have to be a checkbox, really. You can set the starting gold/GP5/level as a variable to hand customize it.

If the mode has to be map-restricted, it should either be on both TT and SR or on neither. If players are allowed to experiment with item builds against SR's neutral monsters, they should be able to do the same against TT's neutral monsters. On the other hand, if Riot doesn't want to force players to memorize the item breakpoints needed to solo various monsters, tossing the game mode on HA or CS would work better, due to both maps not having any neutral monsters.

That sounds fair, and i dont think it would be a huge pain to implement it across all of the maps

Item Testing Mode? Kind of like a... SANDBOX MODE?

I agree.

I'm honestly baffled how the game of this popularity lacks basic MOBA stuff like sandbox mode or replays after 6 years of existing. The fact that every other MOBA I played offers those certainly does not speak in Riot's favor.
