The catch-22 of champ select

Something that has been bugging me for awhile now is the fact that few players highlight their champs during the banning and pick phase.

Most people just leave a blank spot unless they playing a champ that gets banned often like Yasuo or Camille in which case they highlight.

On the one hand this is stupid, the whole point of champ highlights is so a proper team comp will be made and keeping silent screws over first pick as they wont know if picked the wrong champ till the end and can't swap because they have no clue what their allies want.

On the other hand, showing your desired champ puts people with bans in an advantageous position to bully you around as if you upset them, they can take away your champ.

It's a mess, and I don't know what to do about it.
