Caitlyn is going to feel uber clunky with the Attack Delay nerf

Like i understand the Runaans and maybe the attack speed. But the attack delay? All thats going to achieve is making her feel clunky.

Galio I know right?

I have several problems with caitlyn but my issue with her is more in her traps or her headshot damage and how they let her take over lane phase and restrict mobility a lot. This is not the nerf she needs.

I can suffer her early game just so long as they make it so her mid and late game suck for it.

fuck caitlyn and her poke, zone control and safety.

sincerely, twitch

This nerf is designed to dumpster her till further notice but not fix the real issues. Riot is great at doing this, too bad they don't do it to Lee Sin.

She's a sniper she's supposed to line up her shot before taking it

Ashe uses a bow and can fire like 6 shots at once.

To be fair, magic bow.

If Caitlyn doesn't like her nerf, she can switch to a bow.

Then Vayne and Twitch should have to reload for 20 seconds.

Caitlyn is meant to be a sniper, though, so even if her attack speed isn't as slow as Jhin's, it's not supposed to be as fast as her current AS. Slower =/= clunkier, either, so while the nerfs might be excessive, it's better for her to hit slower and harder, than for her to turn into yet another marksman machine gun.

The attack delay is going to make kiting harder and aa cancelling with her easier. Comapred to now thats going to feel clunky.

Cait is not meant to be a sniper, Riot was asked about that and they said that they weren't gonna put a sniper kit on Cait, probably because it would fuck over her entire current playerbase, and instead put it on Jhin.

I'd say it's a safe bet to call Caitlyn a sniper: she has some of the highest autoattack ranges in the game, her low base attack speed is there specifically so that she doesn't attack as fast as other marksmen or scale well with AS, and a large part of her gameplay revolves around landing critical instances of high damage, i.e. Headshot. She also uses a sniper rifle, and has sniper quotes. Jhin may be a sniper too, but plays differently enough from her that there can be two snipers in the game (plus Varus, who's arguably a bow-based sniper in his own right).

Also, I'd be curious as to see where Riot mentioned that they weren't going to give Cait a sniper kit. From my understanding, Jhin's release itself acknowledged Caitlyn as a different kind of sniper to him.

What Caitlyn mainly does is kite and spam autos and oneshot with trap combo's. Her Headshots are much more of a DPS steroid than an actual burst tool, outside of laning. Hell, she doesn't even buy Firecannon anymore to poke. Admittedly, this has a lot to do with Runaans, but before Firecannon was a thing, Cait still did the same thing, just with less oneshots with traps (on squishies without allies to help, that is).

Caitlyn doesn't rattle off a few shots at high range, she's just a higher ranged ADC with a little less damage (attack speed, lack of AS steroid) to compensate. Until you realize her damage is still incredibly high due to Runaans+passive+really high base damage on R, as passive is basically a 37.5% AD steroid (on autos) +10% attack speed.

Also, I'd be curious as to see where Riot mentioned that they weren't going to give Cait a sniper kit. From my understanding, Jhin's release itself acknowledged Caitlyn as a different kind of sniper to him.

It was something about how someone mentioned that Cait shooting at 2 autos per second wasn't really sniperlike, and Riot said they agreed, and made Jhin instead. Probably near the Jhin release, but I can't give you a source.

Good. I strongly dislike the champion and would like to see her nerfed down as much as possible. It brings a great deal of joy to my heart to know that I will be able to play my favoured ADCs more safely now.

Her super ranged autos and her traps are absolutely oppressive.

If they continue to nerf her like this, she won't even be viable. I still think the Runaan's nerf is absolute bullshit and should be applied to all ADCs. :/ Its hypocritical of them to say,"Oh, we want to open up her build paths; she always builds Runaans!" when fucking Kalista, Ashe, Tristana, and Jinx all also build it because of previous synergies. You're considered a trash Jinx if you don't build it even and I feel like Jinx's AoE Crit Rockets are far more problematic than Cait getting extra headshots.

I'm not going to defend Riot's reasoning regarding Hurricane, but it was a bug that it was giving her extra Headshot stacks, and it is correct to fix it.

Where did they state it was a bug?? And for that matter, even if it was a bug, they've allowed it to exist for long that it became intrinsic to Cait's kit and overall success. They've left bugs in for other champions as well that had become part of their kits and served as part of their success. Just recently, in fact, they did a massive bunch of bug fixes to Renekton that resulted in making him clunkier and harder to play and have since made the decision to revert them. If they are indeed fixing a "bug" then they should fix all of the bugs that people abuse to make a champion more successful and viable. Stating that its a bug still makes the entire thing smelly and pandering to the few loudest jerks who can't and won't learn how to deal with Cait. And its still incredibly hypocritical of them to state they're making this change because they want to "open up her build" when other ADCs also exclusive rush and build Runaan's ever single game, regardless of the situation.

Cait's problem isn't with her autoattacks. It's her traps. Cait is one of my main ADCs and it is brutal to place a trap under a stunned target.

Unironic SJW1 votes

and another failed CertainlyTrash champion design bites the dust.

though honestly, it's not that hard to fix - either remove the bonus range OR the bonus damage on traps.

Ashe is wielding a bow and can shoot over 6 arrows at once

A skilled archer can rapid fire arrows, and fire more than once even on the move. A skilled sniper can do neither, as there's still recoil and small magazine size on a large gun. An archer's prime range is a couple hundred feet, a sniper's is about a mile. Archer's usually work in a team with several archers; while a sniper often only has a personal weatherman to double check for accuracy and clearance to the target.
