The unpopular opinion about tanks..
Tanks feel really good if you buy the right items. Almost all tank items are super situational. Of course this is talking from an even or ahead scenario where the game isn't out of control. It used to be that you would buy Iceborn and Sunfire and roll the game because MR didn't matter as health pretty much covered magic damage completely as during that time it was a useless type of damage. Now you actually have to think about your buys, where the game is going to be in say 5 minutes.. I don't think they feel bad at all unless you are far behind as a team, and I think people need to stop comparing tanks now to tanks when you literally built full armor and autowon the game against any composition cause tanks were busted back then, that isn't the case anymore. They are alot more team reliant which can be seen as bad thing, but I quite enjoy not having to worry about a 4 item tank steamrolling my team as this unkillable giant that shreds the team with massive damage.
Lets be real, do we really want the meta back where tanks would beat the opposing backline just to have a slap fight? Now I do understand where the community is coming from, carries get gold way too fast now, making tanks hard to keep in the game, but if you are even with enemy carries, you are actually damn near unkillable through the mid game, so if anything nerf carries' ability to get gold as fast as they are.
) . If I see a tank heavy opposing team I just build
and
, that usually takes care of it.
is too weak for this, we need a proverbial middle finger item screws over AD but maybe makes magic taken, true damage. Then have a polar opposite item that applies to magic damage. Pure AD teams are abusing the fact that there are too many sources of armor penetration and thus armor is mostly useless.
