A Question of Strategy

I have a question about a situation I recently found myself in:

Note: I'm not flaming anyone, or trying to say anyone is bad or anything like that, I always try to be respectful and calm in every match, regardless of the outcome. I just want to know what exactly I'm supposed to do in a situation like this. There has to be something. I have to be able to make a large enough impact to change the course of the game, otherwise what's the point of trying to improve if the way to win is to flip heads on the pre-game coin toss?

Our team: Ahri Kaisa Renekton Swain MonkeyKing

Enemy team: Annie Irelia Jinx Kayn Nautilus

I am summoner 4 summoner 14 Renekton top. I am 6/1 over summoner 4 summoner 12 Irelia . I just won a 1v2 vs Irelia and Rhaast Kayn . I've taken the outer and inner top turrets, and we have 2 item 2055 and several more item 3340 in the enemy jungle on top side.

Bot lane is Ahri and Kaisa . They are 0/11 and 0/8, respectively, as well as 60 cs behind Nautilus and Jinx .

Bot lane is continuously pushing to tower and getting ganked, despite constant warning and several roams, which didn't amount to anything because our tower was gone and we had no map control on bot side, and no pressure mid due to Swain being 1/2 against Annie and refusing to pressure tower when she roamed, instead opting to follow her despite my politely worded suggestions. Every one of my roams ending up with them dead and me barely escaping alive, despite me getting a pick on Nautilus during one of the skirmishes.

I suggest that we swap, because top tower is still up, and Irelia only has item 3057 item 1036 and item 2033, and is constantly shoving in trying to take tower as well.

I am confident that I can stay alive in bot lane, and potentially fight the Jinx and Nautilus if I dodge his Q.

Kaisa is not worth fighting with as she does no damage, and I figure if it's just me bot I won't pull as much pressure and could take the tower and start getting some map control on bot side

Kaisa refused because "You don't lane swap until the tower is down."

I stated my reasoning: Top tower is up, you'll be safe there, Kaisa is a late-game champion, and you need to farm. Irelia is weak, and you should be able to fight her 2v1, as long as you don't push past river. Rift herald is also up, and you can help our MonkeyKing jungle contest it after you push, while I deal with bot.

Again, Kaisa insisted that it is incorrect to swap before they get the tower down, and it has to be the ADC that gets the tower down because... reasons I still am unsure about.

I am legit wondering, who was correct here? It was far too late for me to snowball their lane, and I was just trying for some damage control, and to stall out til late game when she scales.

Did I make the right call or not? Was there something I should have done differently? I'd love any advice anyone might have for me, because I'm at a loss as to what I should have done differently.

Imho yours was the best call; but it's hard to convince other people to accept it, especially if all they are ever doing is blindly following the latest LCS meta or strategy.

My advice to you is, to throw all these kinds of team-strategy and decision-making out the window, especially when it comes to low elo and people who dont understand a lick. When it comes to solo play just focus on your own plays and mechanics, and play vs your opponents, not with your team. For example, you won top. If you then decide to go bot, its not to help your teammates but to kill enemy bot lanes. In basketball, imagine you have to ball in your hands, run into your enemies and outplay them and score, if your teammates help, thats fine, but if not, just make your own plays.

Bot lane is continuously pushing to tower and getting ganked, despite constant warning and several roams, which didn't amount to anything because our tower was gone and we had no map control on bot side, and no pressure mid due to being 1/2 against and refusing to pressure tower when she roamed,

Go mid and pressure it yourself and/or take rift and then pressure mid. Try to make plays to force enemy botlane to move by crashing into their base. Trying to focus a losing lane will only make yourself fall behind.

You made the right call but the problem is, people don't listen then they will act like it not their fault. From 1 day i had same problem like yous except it was early in game, So i saw Tryndamere goes top and i picked Teemo to counter him while our mid was Kayle against Swain . So Tryndamere decide to lane swap early with Swain as he don't want to deal with my Teemo , i begged Kayle to lane switch since teemo got no chance to stand against swain, but all she did was ignoring me completely even when me and jg asked her like 10 times atleast, And what make things more worst, when we lost she acted like a dumb and told me "Did you even asked for swap?" everyone laughed at her for that.

some people are just way too stuck in their mindset. those are the kinds of players who are good with single player/co-op games, but suck at pvp because they see things as black or white and cant adapt to situations. honestly all you could have done was try to go down there and simply use your bot lane as a meat shield as you take out jinx, but idk if even that would have been the right move.
