Like, I understand getting my secondary after a wait when it really can't fit me into my primary, but it shouldn't do that after two seconds. This is just silly.
Why not just let people queue without a secondary role and accept that they'll get longer queues?

Just knows in advance the wait for your primary is gonna be looooooong
Has a hidden number on your account that records where you've played and is programmed to shove you into secondary after x amount of games, perhaps to balance fairness and queue times

I could see the first one, though I'd rather take a long queue time to get my primary role in placements.
I've gotten my primary about 1/3 of the time in total, so the second one doesn't make that much sense.
It's probably #3 :P
