It's not just if someone has disconnected, it's if they've disconnected (or were simply afk) for 90 seconds within the first 3 minutes of the match.

Otherwise there'd be abuse cases where people RQ or similar, and legitimate victories/losses would be spoiled.

If you've already disconnected in the first 3 minutes, the game should be remade, because most people are going to continue to have that problem.

It wouldn't be a problem. People who are DC'd would get leaverbustered. No premade is waiting 20 mins, especially just to leaverbuster again.

When I see someone disconnect in the first minute or so, I do tend to hope that they don't reconnect within 90 seconds for the reason you stated, i.e. they're probably on an unstable connection and might disconnect later.

At the same time lots of people complain as is that they had as bugsplat when loading and lost LP even though they reconnected ASAP, so the current system is the best attempt at being fair to all involved.

Even if it's just a disconnect, it makes a big difference in the game. It makes me lose my focus and usually makes me have to change my game around.
